Who is Max Homa‘s new caddie? The 34-year-old is one of the most beloved golfers in the world. Since making his debut in 2014, he has won 6 PGA Tour titles so far. A year before receiving his PGA Tour card, Homa aligned himself with Joe Greiner. The two seemed inseparable since then, having spent 12 years together. However, the last couple of years have not been as prosperous for Homa.
The last time the Burbank local won a title was in 2023. He saw a lot of success that year as he captured two PGA Tour titles and one international win. But since then, Homa has struggled to get a result on the Tour despite some top-end performances. He finished T3 in the 2024 Masters Tournament, which saw Scottie Scheffler lift the title with a dominating performance. 2025 hasn’t been good for Homa as well as he has missed the cut 5 out of 7 times. It seems that he has had enough now, as he has decided to make a big change to his game. Let’s see what he has done.

Max Homa finds a new on-course partner
After months and months of struggle, Max Homa has finally taken a step towards improving his game. After 12 years of partnership, the PGA Tour pro has decided to part ways with his caddie, Joe Greiner. It comes as a surprise as the 2025 Masters Tournament is only a few days away. But nothing can be changed now, and Homa has already found a replacement. The 34-year-old stepped onto TPC San Antonio with a new caddie beside him, Bill Harke. Underdog Golf confirmed the same in a tweet as they posted “Homa’s new caddie is Bill Harke.”
Harke is a veteran caddie who has been in the business for many years. He has worked as a caddie since 2004 and has had many bosses over the years. Harke has been the on-course guidance for Jonas Blixt, Peter Tomasulo, Peter Lonard, Aron Price, James Driscoll, Tom Gillis, Colt Knost, and Chris Kirk over the years. He has found some success with them over the years. Harke’s fondest memory is the time he helped Kirk win the 2013 McGladrey Classic at Sea Island Resort on Saint Simons Island, Georgia. At least that is what his The Caddie Network profile says.
Harke believes the best part about being a caddie is “Getting in the mix to win a tournament and helping the world’s best players reach their goals. There is no better adrenaline rush than that.” He truly seems passionate about his work. Hopefully, the attitude will help Max Homa convert those near misses into big wins.

Bill Harke: Former golfer and NFL fan
Bill Harke started his journey in golf as a player. His most treasured memories in golf come from spending time on the course with his grandpa as he learned the game as a kid. Harke said, “I realized at a young age that golf could be my life’s work. It has taken me all over the world and introduced me to people and places that influenced my life. I owe everything I have to the game.” He continued to pursue a career as a golfer until his time at University. The veteran caddie also played for California State University, Monterey Bay from 1998-2001. Only three years later, he made a switch to a career in caddying.
Golf is not the only sport William Harke is interested in. He is also an avid follower of the NFL, or so it seems. Dylan Dethier shared Harke’s official account with football via a tweet. He said, “2 fun facts about Max Homa’s new caddie Bill Harke: 1. Claims to be the first person to catch a pass from Tom Brady in organized football (1991 Junipero Serra High freshman team; Brady, the backup, went in for garbage time vs. St. Francis) 2. Has an absolute cannon for an arm.” The tweet also included a video that showed Max Homa‘s new caddie throwing a ball across the lake onto the green. The putting surface seemed like it was over 150 yards away. Throwing a golf ball that far is truly a remarkable feat. Regarding the Tom Brady bit, that might be a bit difficult to confirm.

Beyond his caddying role, Bill has made a big impact on the golfing community as a volunteer assistant coach for the Academy of Art University’s women’s golf team. In his debut season, he guided the team to a stellar second-place finish at the Pacific West Conference Championship, with standout players Plern Rattanaprakarn and Chantel Tsai earning All-Tournament Team honors.
But the question is, will Bill Harke be able to get Max Homa back on track, or has the PGA Tour pro thrown his chances of winning the 2025 Masters Tournament away? Share your views in the comments section.
