This pretty much sums up the story of Maverick McNealy, who is the son of billionaire Scott McNealy, finding his life partner. So, what exactly happened? During the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February 2023, the PGA Tour Pro ended up tearing the anterior stern-clavicle ligament in his left shoulder.

While tackling the seventh hole during the second round at Monterey Peninsula Club’s Shore Course, he faced a prolonged wait in chilly conditions. This delay led to a less-than-ideal swing, where his attack angle became overly steep. As a result, he found himself stuck underneath, requiring a late adjustment to realign his shoulder for a proper follow-through. Although surgery was not necessary, he had to go through physical therapy. That was where he met his wife, Maya Daniels, and started dating each other.

Maya McNealy went to the Palo Verde High School. However, apart from this, there is little knowledge about her online. This is because she likes to keep her life extremely private. During his journey to recovery, Maya McNealy stood rock solid next to him supporting him with rehab. Well, that was when he knew she was the one. He decided to propose to her, and it was one for the storybooks indeed.

Maverick McNealy did not stay idle during his time away from the course. Instead, he pursued his love for planes. He earned his pilot’s license and his instrument rating so that he could fly even when the conditions did not support him. He flies a Cirrus SR20 and plans to pilot in some West Coast events as well. “He is watching airplane videos any time he doesn’t have a golf club in his hand,” Daniels said. “I don’t know how he has the time or the mental patience to get better at both things consistently … but he’s one of the most determined people I know.”

The couple got married in December, and it was an intimate celebration, and they even shared pictures on their Instagram account. Maverick McNealy wrote, “12.6.23… a day too special not to share. @maya.mcnealy has a nice ring to it 💍”. The couple likes to do a lot of things together and spend quality time together. Maverick McNealy’s plane seems to be a romantic spot for their relationship. The two spend quite a lot of time flying together. Maverick McNealy often shares pictures with her on his Instagram, most of which are on his plane. From going on dinners to attending concerts, the couple does it all. In March, they visited Las Vegas to have a cozy dinner after McNealy finished playing a round of golf. Their most special outing was on August 16 last year. Maverick McNealy flew her to Lake Tahoe and made the surprise proposal. 

In the summer of last year, they even flew to Nevada to attend a concert and enjoy a getaway together during the Shriners Open. They booked a resort and enjoyed their private time there. Earlier in February, Maverick McNealy tied for the sixth position at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. He went to celebrate the feat with his wife with a burger. He even shared pictures on the Internet and wrote, “The best way to cap off a top 10 at the @wmphoenixopen and a successful road trip with @maya.mcnealy @innout”.

It turns out, meeting and marrying Maya McNealy came out of pure luck and fate. This is because he was in a rather great relationship before he met her.
