If you have checked Lucas Herbert’s Instagram handle, you know the Ripper GC golfer is one goofy fellow. From superimposed pictures to memes, Herbert’s posts are occasionally funny and most often rip-roaring hilarious. While the 28-year-old man from Down Under doesn’t hide his penchant for fun, he is notoriously private about his love life.
Herbert, a three-time winner on the DP World Tour, was dating Maggie O’Shea. The couple shared some snippets from the 2022 Masters, Herbert’s first and only (so far) Augusta National appearance. O’Shea caddied for the Aussie golfer in the ceremonial par-3 championship.
Later she posted a few pictures on her Instagram, jokingly captioning, “Followed my boyfriend around a local muni this week, got a few photos.” In another post, she wrote, “Grateful to experience life and moments like this with you. Lucky 13.” However, it’s not clear how and when they met. Per Golf Monthly, their earliest post on Instagram dates back to August 2021.

But it’s not clear if they are still together or went separate ways. A report on the PGA Tour from last September revealed Lucas Herbert spent some time in Maine with his girlfriend’s family during a career break. Again, it’s not certain whether this was O’Shea’s family or not. Per her Instagram handle, she is currently based out of Chicago. While information about his relationship is private and scarce, what we do know is the 28-year-old is a man of varied interests.
Lucas Herbert loves music, among many other things
As mentioned before, Herbert’s Instagram posts reveal that the one-time PGA Tour winner is a goofy fellow. Like his team captain, Cam Smith, Herbert enjoys a good round of drinks with friends. Back in 2020, when he was still a DP World Tour pro, Herbert tweeted, “Any tips for easing a hangover @Leewestwood [Lee Westwood]? Asking for a friend.”

Lucas Herbert is also an audiophile. The 28-year-old loves to play guitar, a hobby that a full-time schedule on the PGA Tour rarely allowed him. Herbert also loves playing video games. Hailing from Bendigo, the one-time PGA Tour winner is a die-hard fan of the Australian Rules Football side, Western Bulldogs, a team from Melbourne.
Herbert enjoys good banter as well. Currently on LIV Golf, Ripper GC and Stinger GC enjoy a healthy rivalry. More than their on-course form, it’s because these two teams are more connected to their roots; Ripper is an all-Australian team, whereas Stinger is all-South African. Asked which team has more fun, Herbert said, “Ripper, all day,” explaining every other player wishes to get into their team because of the amount of fun they have. Well, Lucas Herbert loves good golf and some banter in the mix.
