Meghan Markle and Prince Harry aren’t the only celebrity couple lucky enough to have friends worrying about their love life. There is an equally romantic setup minus the blind date that brought together LPGA Pro Golfer Stephanie Meadow and her husband, former PGA Pro Kyle Kallan.

The couple who was seen together while Kyle caddied for his then-girlfriend Stephanie during the Olympics, have quickly become a point of interest. But very little is known of Stephanie Meadow’s husband and sometimes caddie Kyle Kallan. Let’s rectify that, shall we?

The former Pro Golfer maintains a low profile and abstains from social media for the most part. In fact, Kyle Kallan’s Instagram handle is also a private account, and although he did join Twitter, he doesn’t feel the need to indulge in sharing his thoughts on social media. And who can blame him? As one-half of the celebrity couple in the golfing community, scrutiny and controversies follow them anyway. It is just his way of staying out of the limelight and limiting negative press.

Still, as a former pro golfer, he is not completely unknown to the public. During an interview with Kyle Kallan, Scott Pritchard from Canadian Tour TV exchanged an informative conversation that provides a glimpse into Meadow’s husband’s early life in the world of golf.

Kyle Kallan hails from Arizona. He turned pro after completing his graduation in 2011. Kyle was only 23 years old at the time and was fairing well on the golf course, inspiring his decision to try his hand on the professional circuit. Even though he forfeit his golfing career shortly after, until 2014, Kyle had played 38 events and made the cut in 24 of them.

Right after turning pro, Kyle played at least two Canadian Open events. At the Times Colonist Islands Savings Open in 2011, Kyle scored a 64. At the time, he was a newbie on the professional circuit and it was certainly a good performance for the Arizonian golfer. “It was a full gap wedge and I spun it back in the hole,” he spoke about hitting the ball 108 yards on the 15th hole. It was an accomplishment that truly inspired many aspiring golfers.

He credited his skills to the support of his family. As the leader of the event, he also added “I’m going to stick with the same approach.” He referenced how earlier in the day he spoke to the media about having no expectations. “I just turned Pro, I’m coming out here to have fun. It’s all about having fun so I’m just going to go out there and do the same thing I did today.”

Kallan’s approach to the high stress in Pro Golfing was refreshing. For him, golf wasn’t about the competition or winning. If he made it big, he was happy. Other than that, he played the sport because he really enjoyed it.

Stephanie met Kyle at a dinner event

Despite leaving the pro-golfing community, Kyle Kallan wasn’t exactly out of the circuit. He remains friends with several long-time golfing buddies and that friendship is what brought him face-to-face with his future wife in 2017.

That year Thornhill Creek in Greenbay hosted the first Pro Golf tournament in the area. At a Pro-AM dinner party on the 4th of July 2017, the former PGA Tour golfer was introduced to the LPGA rising star Stephanie Meadow. That was the beginning of a stunningly adorable relationship between the two professionals. She shared a picture to commemorate the day for more than one reason.

Stephanie respected Kyle’s desire to stay away from the limelight and did not share the exact moment they started dating till 3 years later. In fact, it wasn’t until April 2018 that Meadow even mentioned Kyle on her Instagram account, tagging his private handle Ksquared87. It is safe to say that they were already friends, if not more by then since he was tagged right after her sponsors and coach.

Later that month she shared a picture of herself with her future husband on Instagram with a quote that included, “Sometimes we even get to share the experiences with the people we love!” That was one of the first hints she gave about her relationship with Kallan.

The following year on her birthday on January 17th, Stephanie shared a picture of the couple after dinner. A month later she confirmed all suspicions and speculations about her dating life when she publicly wished Kyle Kallan a “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

The couple lived together during the pandemic, and Kyle was Stephanie’s constant support off the golf course. When the LPGA Tour took a break during the pandemic, it was everything Stephanie dreaded. She credited Kyle and their dog Dallas for helping in keeping her sanity intact.

Stephanie also shared Kyle’s constant indulgence in her personal and professional engagement. He was there early in the morning on the walk to support Mental Health organized by Pieta House.

When Stephanie said ‘yes’ to Kyle Kallan

After 2 years and 9 months of dating, Kyle and Stephanie were on a walk through the woods with their Golden Retriever, Dallas. It was the 11th of April 2020, when Kallan got down on one knee and presented her with an engagement ring. Meadow was thrilled and shared the news with her fans the following day.

One regret she has is that her father Robert Meadow never got to meet his future son-in-law. She says she likes to focus on the positive things and knows that her Dad would have loved to walk her down the aisle and must have watched the wedding from above.

The newly engaged couple waited out the pandemic to start planning the wedding. On 5th April 2023, the golfers tied the knot and have since become one of the most romantic couples in the sporting world.

Kyle often caddies for Stephanie

Following the examples of many celebrated golf couples, such as Scottie Scheffler, Rickie Fowler, LPGA Golfer Mel Reid, and more, Kyle Kallan frequently takes up the responsibility of caddie for his wife. It is not certain when he started but after they met, he was often seen carrying her golf bag or at least standing by her during her swing for moral support. She thanked him for being there for her on many occasions in her Instagram posts.

During the 2021 Olympics, the Irish Golfer and her fiance were spotted together. Kyle caddied for her during the prestigious event and supported her throughout. His constant presence helped motivate Stephanie’s performance in Tokyo.

Kyle also caddied for her during the Chevron Championship 2023 in Hawaii. The former pro golfer isn’t always there to carry her bag. Since they started dating, he has been a source of companionship in both her personal and professional life. Most of the time, if he is not on the course with her, he sent videos of himself and their dog to show encouragement. She always makes it a point to share special moments of their lives together, even when they are apart.

Why the budding golfer took his leave from the Pro circuit is a mystery. However, having experienced the stress of the life of a pro golfer, he understands the pressure that Stephanie faces. Thus, he provides whatever motivation and guidance he can to help her achieve her goals.
