Is Lottie Woad's success: Is it all talent, or does Ryan Fenwick deserve more credit?

From starting to play golf at the age of 20 to becoming a coach, Luke Bone, Lottie Woad‘s swing coach, has had an interesting journey. The duo has spent over 10 years together on the greens. He deeply appreciates the golfer and has stood by her during important moments. Let us get to know Luke Bone better.

At 20 YO, he didn’t start as a coach; instead, he played on the PGA regional circuit with some success, reaching the final of the National Pro-Am Championship twice. However, after he switched to coaching, he started receiving the spotlight. Bone and Woad first met at the Farnham Golf Club when the golfer was only seven years old and have been together since. Luke Bone is a private person, and little to nothing is known about his life.

Some reports suggest that he was born in 1987; however, his date of birth isn’t confirmed. Lottie Woad’s coach has a public Instagram account with more than 700+ followers, but it only sheds light on his professional life as most of the posts are with the players he has taught. His profile reveals that he is a brand ambassador for My Golf Tour, a company specializing in golf travel. Bone is not only a talented coach but also a kind-hearted individual. In April 2020, he ran a 16-mile marathon and raised over $3,900 for NHS Charities Together.

While working together, Woad has had a lot of success with her coach, with the most notable one being her victory at the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship. Not only that, Woad also rose to number one in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in June 2024 under his guidance.

The golfer also dedicated her Augusta win to Bone, saying, “I wouldn’t be here without him, with the amount he has done for me on the course,” she said “We still have online lessons every week,” as revealed on the Telegraph website. This shows how much Woad appreciates her coach, and how grateful she is for him but that doesn’t explain everything about their relationship.

He shared a similar post when the golfer won the 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship, celebrating her victory. Luke Bone caddied for the golfer at the Evian Championship and the AIG Women’s Open. Interestingly, he described this opportunity as an honor, saying, “Such an honor to caddy for @lottie_woad in the @aigwomensopen @thehomeofgolf last week.” Overall, Bone and Lottie Woad seem to have a healthy bond, and it will be interesting to see how her career turns out from here.
