Linn Grant started making her name in the world of golf much earlier than turning professional in 2021. Grant inherited the love of golf from her family, as her grandfather, James Grant, was a Scottish golf professional. Her father, John, has also played on the Scottish Golf Tour, and now Linn is carrying the family legacy forward in the sport. Currently, the Sweden-born golfer plays on the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
The 24-year-old has some good accolades in the female golf world. In December 2021, she earned her LPGA Tour card at the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament. After that, she won her first Ladies European Tour title at the Joburg Ladies Open. She was also named Rookie of the Year in 2022. She has accumulated a total of six wins on the LET and one win on the LPGA Tour. There is someone special in her life as well who has supported her through this amazing journey on and off the greens!

Linn Grant has been dating fellow Swedish golfer Pontus Samuelson for more than four years now. They are said to have been in a relationship since their high school days. He is currently a sophomore at Limestone University. Pontus is majoring in Business Administration/Economics and is also a student-athlete. Both Linn and Pontus have been playing golf since a young age. While Linn is shining on international golf courses, Pontus is also leaving a mark in his college golf career.
Though he is still in his early years in the sport, Pontus has added some distinguished accomplishments to his bio. In 2022, he won the GCAA Division II PING All-Southeast Region and was a medalist at the South Atlantic Conference Championship. He was also part of the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team and the All-South Atlantic Conference Third Team the previous year.
A glimpse of Pontus Samuelson’s career
As a freshman, he has a long list of golf achievements to boast about. In his first year at college, he made one top-5 finish and one top-10 finish. He has also played in six events during the freshman season and competed in an overall 18 rounds. He was placed in the top 10 at the Matlock Collegiate Classic with a three-round score of 221.
As regards the 2020–21 season, he participated in the Argonaut Invitational, where he achieved a 71 (-1) in the third round. He also brought glory to his college by leading them to finish in the runner-up position at the SAC Championship by carding a three-round 220 (+4).
Grant placed immense trust in Pontus when she chose him as his caddie. Since Linn made her debut, Pontus has been her caddie at multiple events, guiding her and extending endless support, which has further strengthened their relationship, both on and off the course.

In the last few years, Grant has participated in some major events, like the Arnold Palmer Cup. In 2018, she won the sectional qualification for the 2018 US Women’s Open and gave a good performance. She then participated in the US Women’s Open, and she finished tied for 57th.
Pontus has been there for her, sometimes as her bagman and sometimes as a loving beau. Last year, he was part of Linn’s big victory at the Scandinavian Mixed Event in June. She shot a total of 17 under to win the DPWT and LET’s one-of-a-kind event. Outside of the sport as well, the couple spends some quality time with each other. They like to go on vacations together and enjoy sports like skiing.

Samuelson is moving ahead of the caddie life
This year, in March, Pontus accompanied her on the greens for the last time as her caddie. When the European Tour took a seven-week break, Grant went to South Korea to play in two tournaments there. This was the last time Pontus caddied for Linn as he wanted to concentrate on his career.

About this separation, Grant had previously said: “It’s a bit of a mixed feeling. Boring of course and not being able to travel together every week and experience everything together. At the same time, it feels fun to take a new step and start working with someone who is already a professional caddie.”
One only has to look at Grant’s Instagram profile to get an idea of how much she enjoyed traveling around for tournaments with Samuelson. She often posted pictures and videos of them traveling around, catching flights, and preparing for the next event.
