Early Life of Kyle Berkshire

Berkshire was born on November 1, 1996, to Bill Berkshire (details about her mother are not shared publicly), who has been a secret service agent. The golfer from Crofton, Maryland, now resides in Orlando, Florida. He attended Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland. Well, his early exposure to the sports can be seen with his performance at the school level as he helped the Spalding golf team win two-match play and two-stroke play at the MIAA state championships.

Later, Berkshire even earned a golf scholarship to the University of North Texas, which he kept for two years before transferring to the University of Central Florida. Besides the glorious start of their career as a golfer, he has 42 percent mid-frequency hearing loss in both ears. He developed this condition since birth, and even to this day he can barely hear the crowd’s roar when he is competing.

Despite the issue, he has learned some techniques that help in better judgment of the ball. All thanks to his teacher, Bobby Peterson, who is a former military tank and missiles expert. He notes the ball’s speed at “terminal velocity,” and studies the angle of return to earth and the efficiency of the spin too. Now, with the techniques and competing as a golfer, he discovered his unique skills for long-hitting, which led him to decide on a niche category of golf. Indeed, it turned out to be the best decision for him.

This achievement helped him to get into the top 50 in the world rankings. Even in the 2017 Volvik World Long Drive Championships, Kyle Berkshire made it to the Semis by hitting a 433-yard drive. However, he fell short of the victory to Mich Grassing’s 437 yards distance. His career took off in 2018! Still, his rise was undeniable—climbing to No. 5 in the world rankings!

“I like to let my performance do the talking,” indeed, it is what makes heads turn with each hit of Berkshire reaching long distances. That has been the story for the golfer, as in 2019 season, started with pure dominance in his first performance at the Endless Summer Invitational. He smashed multiple balls above 430 yards. After his dominant wins, Kyle Berkshire came agonizingly close to victory multiple times, finishing runner-up at AK Chin Smash in The Sun, the Exchange Celebrating Service, and the Open Division. With these back-to-back near misses, he climbed to No. 4 in the world long drive rankings—still proving he’s a powerhouse off the tee!
