Brooks Koepka drew a sigh of relief. So did Tom Brady. And so did Paige Spiranac. The PGA Tour posted a congratulatory message. So did LIV Golf. When was the last time that happened? Never, probably? Jersey Jerry has done what few could do in the last few years. In his pursuit of a hole-in-one, Jerry has united the golf world.

Jerry, who works at Barstool Sports, had this crazy idea to try for a hole-in-one in the golf simulator at his office. Now, you and I would probably give up after a few shots. A few hours at best. But you and I are not Jersey Jerry. As the clock ticked, days rolled by, and his body slowly started giving up, Jerry kept at it. Until the moment came, a day and a half later.

Jersey Jerry did the unthinkable

The golf world was transfixed by the amateur golfer’s dedication to a hole-in-one. It’s a tough nut to crack on the 7th hole of the iconic Pebble Beach. As Jerry started live streaming on YouTube, the world slowly started taking notice of this wacky fairytale.

He came close. Agonizingly close. Just around the 2000 shot, the ball went near the hole. When everyone, including his colleagues and friends, looked sure that this was the moment, the ball stopped just a few inches before the hole.

Not the first time. Not the last time. Once again, after a few hundred swings, Jerry reached near the hole. This time, the ball veered off to the right. Finally, another few hundred strokes, and a few hours later, the ball finally rolled into its intended place.

By that time, the clock had ticked the 37-hour mark. Jerry’s body aches, which is natural considering he swung the club more times in 37 hours than professional golfers do in a year. By that time, golf pros, too, had taken notice of it.

The internet stood still

It’s a feat worthy of commendation. Golfers across the PGAT and LIV Golf divide were quick to recognize the grind, the effort, and the love for the game behind this miraculous achievement.

Brooks Koepka didn’t take long to congratulate Jerry on this feat. It’s a feat worthy of a green jacket, said the Smash GC captain.

For the PGA Tour pro, Michael S. Kim, Jersey Jerry is an inspiration. In fact, the American pro put him on the same pedestal as David Goggins.

Max Homa, famed for his online wit, also called him an inspiration. The six-time PGA Tour winner, however, understands what Jerry’s hands have gone through in the last 37 hours. Notably, Homa, too, narrowly missed an ace in the Sentry.

Golf influencer Paige Spiranac, who occasionally tees up at golf simulators as well, knows it’s not easy to manage an ace even in the virtual world. That is why Golf Mommy considers this as a huge moment.

PGA Tour pros, despite playing in the Senty, kept a tab on Jerry’s progress. In a video posted by the PGA Tour, Ludvig Aberg, Sahith Theegala, Rickie Fowler, and Wyndham Clark also turn to congratulate Jerry.

LIV Golf, meanwhile, already offered him a Letterman jacket. We don’t know if the breakaway league has shipped it to Barstool’s office yet.

It’s not just golf pros; NFL legend Tom Brady was the first to give Jerry the juice he needed. Just half an hour later, Brady was stunned to see the feat.

Did Jerry know it would take this long? Probably not. But the rallying support he has found from around the world makes the grind worth it.
