“Every day it’s my aim to improve and get better. I see myself as the world number one [professional] in five years,” said Eila Galitsky in an interview with Asia Pacific Golf Federation just a few months ago. And she seems to be taking strong steps to take charge of her own wishes. In February, the young golfer made her first college win at the Moon Golf Invitational in just her second start. However, she was to continue that solid performance in the coming months as well. Currently active at Augusta National, Eila Galitsky had an amazing round during the ongoing Augusta National Women’s Amateur. Galitsky shot 6-under 66 to finish the tournament 8 under, securing the clubhouse lead. Even more importantly, her final round tied the lowest score in ANWA history at Augusta National, matching Bailey Shoemaker’s 2024 round that led to her runner-up finish.

However, looking at this, you must wonder: what’s going on with Eila Galitsky’s career? Well, we have an answer.

Galitsky made a significant impact on the golf scene two years ago by winning the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific Championship, which earned her low-amateur honors at the LPGA’s Chevron Championship. At just 16, she led the first round of the Chevron Championship and finished T28, also securing exemptions to three majors. Following that, in March 2023, she won the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific in Singapore, joining Jeeno Thitikul as a champion from Thailand. However, most importantly, she capped off a brilliant year by finishing T11 at the Women’s Australian Open.

But Galitsky followed her strong 2023 steps into the 2024 season as well. In that year, Galitsky had one win and three top-five finishes on the Thai LPGA Tour. Following that, she participated in the 2024 Honda LPGA Thailand, finishing T41. But, hey, what about her appearances at Augusta National? Well, pretty solid, if you ask us. She played in both the 2023 and 2024 Augusta National Women’s Amateur and finished T8 in the latter edition.

Success, however, seems to have followed her into this year. In the 2025 Patsy Hankins Trophy, she beat World No. 1 amateur Lottie Woad in singles, contributing to her Asia-Pacific team’s victory. Now, 18 years old, she is active at Augusta National for her third ANWA appearance. And that was a brief look at her career. Now, let’s take a peek at her personal life. We will be quick!

A look at Eila Galitsky’s personal life

Born in Chiang Mai, Eila Galitsky holds dual citizenship in Thailand and Canada, thanks to her Toronto-based father. Interestingly, the Galitsky family left Chiang Mai in 2019 for a six-week trip to the United States. However, it was a purposeful journey. The family made the move to support Galitsky in her debut on the American Junior Golf Association Tour at the David Toms Foundation Junior All-Star event. Undoubtedly, her family, including her younger brother, Benjamin Galitsky, is a huge support system.

And she seems to thank her family plenty. Just last year, having made it on the LPGA Thailand, she took to Instagram to thank her family in her post. “Honda LPGA Thailand! It was truly a dream come true to play this incredible event! Although it wasn’t my best performance, it was the most amazing experience ever. I’m so grateful to have the opportunity, thank you @hondalpgathailand @siamcountryclub and @imggolf I would also like thank all the staff and the fans that were there. A student at the University of Carolina, Galitsky is pretty active on her social media handle. Although she updates her fans about her games constantly–a move favorite among golfers–she also gives brief glimpses into her personal life. For instance, last year, in an interview with Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific, she introduced her fanbase to her cat. “Life at home with defending Champion @eilaaaa_galitsky 🇹🇭🏆 As cat names go, these are purrrfect 🤣.” Similarly, she seemed to be enjoying a day at the beach and shared the pictures with her fans, with the caption, “🏖️.”

Clearly, there’s a lot to our star golfer. And we will likely see more of her in the coming days!
