Doug Ghim, was born on April 16, 1996 to Jeff Ghim and Susan Ghim . Raised in Arlington Heights, Illinois, Ghim completed his education at Buffalo Grove High School. The golfer started his amateur career in 2016 when he first competed in the Arnold Palmer Cup. Ghim then finished in the second position at the 2017 U.S. Amateur. His T2 finish helped him earn an invitation to compete in the 2018 Masters and the U.S. Open. The golfer then also won at the 2017 Pacific Coast Amateur. For his stellar performance at the Masters and many eagles he shot, Ghim received two pairs of crystal goblets.
He was also honored with the 2018 Ben Hogan Award, recognizing him as the best male college golfer. Ahead of the 2018 Travelers Championship, the 27-year-old made the move to become a professional golfer. He joined the PGA Tour in 2020 and has yet to secure any victories on the professional scene.
