Life moves fast, doesn’t it? One moment, you’re chasing your passion, and the next, you’re sharing it with the love of your life. That pretty much sums up the journey of PGA Tour pro-Davis Thompson.

Back in 2021, he turned pro and joined the Korn Ferry Tour. A year later, he not only grabbed his first Korn Ferry Tour win but also popped the big question to his longtime girlfriend, Holly Grace Robinson. Fast forward to 2023, they got hitched, and Thompson climbed to a career-high 59th in the world rankings. He came so close to his first PGA Tour victory at the American Express, only to be edged out by Jon Rahm.

But 2024? That was his year. Thompson finally broke through, winning his first PGA Tour title at the John Deere Classic. And in that incredible, life-changing moment, there she was—his biggest cheerleader, his wife.

“Yeah, she means everything to me,” Thompson said in his winner’s press conference. “We knew each other in high school; started dating in college. So I’ve known her forever. She’s my best friend and I’m just — I felt a lot more comfortable this year having her on the road with me and traveling together. Last year, it kind of got lonely just because we weren’t married yet until May. Even then, I felt like I was still kind of traveling alone. It’s been awesome to have her by my side. Wouldn’t want anybody else.”

Indeed, life just gets a lot sweeter when you have someone to share those big moments with, and for Thompson, that person is Holly.

So who is Holly Grace Robinson?

Holly Grace Robinson isn’t just Davis Thompson’s biggest supporter—she’s been part of his journey long before he made a name for himself on the PGA Tour.

Born on April 4, 1998, about a year before Thompson, Holly grew up in Auburn, Alabama, with her parents, Eric and Stacy Robinson, and her two older sisters, Hayley and Hayden. She went on to study at Auburn University, graduating in 2021 with a degree in apparel merchandising, design, and production management. Before that, she gained some hands-on experience with internships at Ivory & White Bridal Boutique and Behind the Glass, a local women’s clothing store.

Is Davis Thompson's success on the PGA Tour a testament to the power of love and partnership?

Have an interesting take?

She and Thompson knew each other since high school, but their love story didn’t really start until college. They made it official in September 2020, and when Holly finally posted about him on Instagram, captioning, it’s the 3 hour drive instead of the 5 hour drive for me.” Clearly, the distance was getting a little easier to manage!

Fast forward to November 2022, and Thompson popped the question at Botanic in Alabama. They originally planned to get married on December 16, 2023—just in time for Christmas. But then came a curve ball their way when Holly’s mom’s cancer diagnosis that led to the wedding being preponed. On May 27, 2023, they said their vows in an intimate ceremony in Auburn, surrounded by close family and friends. Sadly, just a few weeks later, Holly’s mom, Stacy, passed away on July 8, 2023.

During their honeymoon, Thompson reflected on the change of plans in a heartfelt Instagram post: “Honeymoonin’ with HG. Crazy to think that we were supposed to get married today. God stepped in though and provided another plan that was far better than what we had originally planned. I pray that if you’re reading this, you find hope in Christ this season as we celebrate not only the birth of our Savior but His saving Grace that’s given to those who repent and put their faith in Him.”

Now that Holly’s by his side, Thompson has already reached a huge milestone—his first PGA Tour win. But is this just the start? With her cheering him on, could his biggest fan help him snag his second victory? What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
