At the age of 29, Danny Walker finally made his PGA Tour debut. Before he makes it big in the American league, here’s all you need to know about the golfing professional. Walker was born on October 4, 1995, in Bradenton, Florida. Not much is known about his parents, but they shifted to Jacksonville, and the family is currently living there. He went to the University of Virginia. He might be making waves in the golf community now, but that was not always the case.
The 29-year-old back in 2021 or 2022 used to work as a waiter at a Bahama Breeze. Walker used to wish to be a Formula 1 driver, or a lead guitarist for a significant rock band someday. However, he knows that they are unrealistic dreams. He is a big fan of Formula 1, and his favorite team is Ferrari. He has been strumming the guitar since he was 16 years old. But he never took any formal training for it; it’s all self-learned.

His favorite sports team is the Tampa Bay Rays (MLB), and he would love to throw out the first pitch at a Tampa Bay Rays game. When it comes to golf, Tiger Woods is Danny Walker’s idol. Walker cites his best memory of the sport as watching Woods claim victory at Bay Hill in 2012 on a Sunday. At that time, Walker was on the verge of quitting golf to pursue a career in astrophysics.
While he still has a strong interest in visiting an observatory, life surely has other plans for him. Let’s dive into his professional journey.
Danny Walker makes it to the PGA Tour
Walker earned his 2025 tour card by finishing in the Top 30 on the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour’s points list, securing a season-long ranking of No. 28 in October. “It’s the culmination of 20 years of work, probably,” Walker told PGATour.com. “It’s been a dream since I was a little kid. I don’t know how else to put it into words beyond that.”
“Officially heading to @pgatour next season!! 😱 Lifelong dream number 1 achieved. There are so many people to thank that have been a part of this journey, but none have been more important than my parents who were always encouraging and supportive of a kid with a passion and a big dream, so this one is for them,” wrote Walker on Instagram sharing him being Tour Bound with his online family.

After relocating to Jacksonville, Walker returned to Lakewood Ranch in April to compete in the Korn Ferry Tour’s LECOM Suncoast Classic at Lakewood National Golf Club, where he finished tied for 20th. His strong 2024 season also included six top-15 finishes, highlighted by a runner-up finish at the Pinnacle Bank Championship in August, where he shot an opening-round 62. He turned pro in 2018—after winning three consecutive state team titles in high school and earning two-time academic All-American honors at UVA.
