Bryson DeChambeau is set to make waves at Augusta National for his ninth Masters start, and the excitement is palpable! Speaking ahead of the tournament, DeChambeau shared that winning the Masters would be like “a lifelong dream come true. Something I dreamt about as a kid.” With the 2-time major champion looking sharp, his impressive performance can be attributed in part to the man behind the scenes—his caddie, Greg Bodine. As the duo prepares for their second Masters appearance together, let’s take a closer look at Bodine!

Gregory Bodine, a co-founder of Evergreen Golf Club, hails from Lakewood, WA. He attended Life Christian in Tacoma, where he was the 2007 Team State Champion, and later graduated from Biola University with a degree in Kinesiology while playing golf. Greg now lives in Kirkland, WA, with his wife Kelsey and their two sons, Brooks and Parker.

Bodine has actively participated in golf for most of his life. He is also the cousin of PGA Tour players Andrew and Michael Putnam. From 2013 to 2021, he caddied on the Korn Ferry and PGA Tours for players including

Andrew Putnam, Tony Finau, and Patrick Rodgers. Consequently, he was present for Tony Finau’s wins at the 2016 Puerto Rico Open and caddied for Finau for the 2019 Presidents Cup U.S. team’s win. Additionally, he was present for Tony Finau at the 2018 Ryder Cup. Overall, Bodine has 35 top-10 finishes.

Gregory Bodine helped launch Evergreen Golf Club in 2022. To do that, Bodine used a large chunk of his career earnings and invited investors, including former Seahawks receiver Jermaine Kearse. It is a premier indoor golf facility, and Bodine remains actively involved in its operations. Additionally, Gregory Bodine is pretty active on his social media, if not a lot. For instance, Bodine often uses his Instagram handle to advertise his amazing golf club. In February, he posted a clip of the inside of the club with the caption, “

Wednesday @evergreengolfclub 🌲💚.” But he shares enough about his family time as well. For instance, the golfer posted a clip of his two sons in August 2024 with the caption, “TBT 😂 @kelseybodine.” Undoubtedly, Gregory Bodine shares a very vibrant personal and professional life!

Currently, Bodine caddies for Bryson DeChambeau on the LIV Golf Tour. But, when did this solid duo come together? Let’s go through it all!

Gregory Bodine and Bryson DeChambeau are a stunning pair of winners

Bodine had “retired” from caddying in 2020 to start a business in Washington. However, he received a call from DeChambeau in May 2023, despite their limited prior acquaintance. When Bryson DeChambeau first reached out to Greg Bodine in 2023, he was in a really bad place. For instance, he struggled in LIV and frequently finished outside the top 20 in 48-man events. His best finish in 2023 before he hit up Bodine? A tie for 16th place at the LIV Golf Invitational Orlando. So, what happened next?

So, when DeChambeau reached out to Bodine, the first thing he said was, “Dude, I’m lost, I have no idea what I’m doing with my game.” This was something that Bodine shared in 2024. DeChambeau wanted change, and Bodine offered more than just a new caddie. However, Bodine and his wife had recently experienced the heartbreak of a miscarriage. Consequently, he was reluctant to return to the demanding PGA Tour caddying lifestyle. However, he still joined hands with Bryson DeChambeau. Bodine stated, “It was worth a try just to see. We weren’t buddies or anything, but he wondered what I was up to.” So, how did it turn out?

Having joined hands in 2023, DeChambeau won the LIV Greenbrier event and another in Chicago, leading his LIV team to the overall title. In 2024, he had strong performances in major championships, finishing tied for sixth at the Masters and placing second to Xander Schauffele at the PGA Championship.

Additionally, together with Bodine, Dechambeau won his 2nd U.S. Open title in 2024. But there was something even more interesting about it. After winning the U.S. Open in June 2024, DeChambeau was quick to thank Bodine during his post-round press conference and privately expressed his gratitude by sending the trophy to Bodine’s home in Seattle for a few weeks.

And, according to Bodine, DeChambeau often shares his fondness for him. In 2024, during the U.S. Open, Bodine said, “What he says over and over again is I keep him calm.” Now, the duo will be active at Augusta National. The question is: will we see them enjoying another win at the 2025 Masters, with DeChambeau in form?
