Many couples in the golf world just steal the show and fans adore them. One such couple is Billy Horschel and his dearest wife, Brittany. They say that a woman helps a man succeed, and become a better version of himself, and this is true in Billy Horschel’s case. 

Horschel is grateful to have Brittany as his life partner. He fell in love with Brittany the moment he set his eyes on her almost two decades ago. According to the golfer himself, his family is the most important thing to him. Golf fans know a lot about the golfer himself, but not so much about her wife. When did Billy Horschel and his wife meet?

Brittany was born on 8th December 1987 in Chicago. She attended the University of Florida, where her husband was also attending college.

The couple met in 2004, 19 years ago, during a Junior golf tournament. For the 36-year-old golfer, it was love at first sight, but his wife took some time to come around and fall in love with him. 

Brittany used to play golf during her college days 

During her days at the University of Florida, Brittany was a college-level golfer. According to her husband, “Brittany was an incredibly talented player.” During her early days in the sport, she had to get 3 surgeries on her wrist. Eventually, she decided to give up the sport and retire because of the recurring wrist injuries. 

Although she has retired from the sport, she occasionally caddies for her husband. One time, when the 36-year-old golfer was competing in Scotland, she caddied for him because his regular caddie had some green card issues. 

Billy Horschel and Brittany: Wedding and family 

The couple got married more than a decade ago on 6th November 2010 in a beautiful ceremony. The couple has 3 children together, 2 girls and 1 boy. The couple’s older daughter, Skylar Lillian, was born on September 9, 2014. This was just two days after Horschel was crowned as the FedEx Cup Champion. Golfer’s second daughter, Colbie Rae was born on April 12, 2017, and his youngest child, son Axel Brooks followed on February 5, 2019.

Brittany often shares snippets of her life with her children and all the fun outings they have together. According to Horschel, her wife is an amazing mother to their children. 

Horschel’s wife and he are a team 

The golfer is away a lot for tournaments, and his wife holds the fort at home during those times. 7X PGA Tour gives all the credit for his successful career to his wife. He also said that he would not be the man he is without his wife. He refers to her as his “best friend” who supports him incredibly.

Talking about how much he loves his family, he wrote on his website, “I often say ‘Love my Life’ and I mean it. I’m so lucky to have a career I love and a wife and three happy kids that complete me.”

Praising her husband in front of the world, Brittany shared in 2017 that his husband has been by her side like a rock as she sought help for alcoholism. He took up all the responsibilities of taking care of their first daughter and shifting them to a new home, all while taking care of Brittany as well. 

Brittany once sought help for alcoholism

In 2017, after Horschel’s AT&T Byron Nelson win, she shared that she got help to battle her alcoholism in 2016, and it had been one year since she had been sober. She also thanked her husband for helping her and supporting her during the tough time.

She also said that now her husband deserves to throw his feet in the air and just relax. The same year, the 2014 FedEx Cup winner referred to her wife as a “strong woman” for battling alcoholism and said that there is still a long journey before she finally reaches the end of her journey. 

What is Brittany doing these days? 

In 2018, she started her own blog called, The Sober Modern Mom. First she wrote about her journey with alcohol, and how it affected her. In 2020, she posted about her incredible feat of being 4 years sober.
