The LPGA is full of many talented female golfers. And one such player is Azahara Munoz. Hailing from Spain, Munoz has played on the LPGA since 2009. This year she completed 15 years on the Tour which is no small feat. Also during this time she met the love of her life, got married, and started a family. She has six career wins, one on LPGA and five on the Ladies European Tour.

Moreover, she has represented Europe in the Solheim Cup three times. In March 2013, she was honored with the Lady Golf Awards as the Best Spanish Professional Player. With three top-10 finishes in the major tournaments, Munoz is among the many talented players on the Tour. And standing by her side through all these years is her lifelong partner and husband who not only supports her in their personal life but has also expressed his love for her by being her caddie at times.

Azahara Munoz is married to her long-time boyfriend Tim Vickers. The couple have been in a relationship since 2012 and during the 2015 off-season, they tied the knot at South of Spain in December. LPGA golfers Pernilla Lindberg and So Yeon Ryu were in attendance at the ceremony. On the professional front, Vickers has donned many hats over the years.

He started his career as a Senior Instructor at the David Leadbetter Golf in 2008 and worked there till 2011. There is no information on where he was employed for the next 5 years. In 2016, he started as a Risk Advisor at the Marsh & McLennan Agency Private Client Services in Florida. In 2022, he changed jobs and became the Vice President, Wealth Advisor at the FineMark National Bank & Trust where he is responsible for developing new relationships with a focus on risk management. He studied at Florida State University where he got his degree in Bachelor of Science (B.S.)International Marketing.

Being a caddie for Azahara and starting a family

The sweetest job Vickers has ever done is being a caddie for his wife. He was Munoz’s caddie at the Lactose Ladies Open De France where she won. He was also her bagman during the 2021 LPGA season.

The couple celebrates their anniversary and holidays with much love as one can see here.

Vickers also shares sweet posts to express his love for his wife and his support for her golfing career.

In September 2021, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child. In February 2022, they welcomed their son Lucas and soon Munoz returned to golfing but it was a tough time for her thanks to her health issues.

She had fought anxiety and fatigue before as well. Several years ago, she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, which is a thyroid problem that caused her trouble with energy. In an interview with Golfweek, she said, ” Like at the bottom of it, I remember we got a new puppy and I was so tired. Like I can’t even walk the puppy. Then I start thinking, what’s wrong with me? Why don’t I want to do things? So it’s never been that bad anymore, so now I’m feeling pretty fantastic.” To deal with her tiredness, Munoz took medications which lessened her fatigue and allowed her to play.

Munoz too appreciates her husband’s love and all the support he extends to her. Last year on the occasion of Vickers first time celebrating Father’s Day, she dedicated him a heartfelt note about how she wants her son to grow up looking up to his father and thanked him for giving her the greatest gift. She wrote: “first Father’s Day my love! @timothyjamesv I have never met someone that cares and loves as much as you. Thanks for giving me our greatest gift!!!! Lucas, daddy is a good one to look up to if I could ask for anything Is for you get his heart, and while I’m at it his looks too love u pumpkin!!

In 2023 also, Azhara had a consistent year where she made top 50 finishes in many tournaments. And Vickers may not be her caddie at the moment but he is still a big aid by being her partner and looking after their son. Their decade-long relationship is a big strength for Munoz.
