Anna Davis’s professional journey
Anna Davis’s golfing career has been a whirlwind of excitement and achievement. It all started when she won the 2022 Augusta National Women’s Amateur, wearing a now-iconic bucket hat that became a viral sensation. She later joked that “the fuss over the bucket hat was pretty funny for a little while.” But beyond the hype, Davis did feel alot of pressure as well. She’s played in seven LPGA Tour events, making the cut in five, including her second Major appearance at the Amundi Evian Championship, where she finished T65. Davis has also represented the US in several prestigious tournaments, including the 2021 US Junior Solheim Cup, the 2023 US Junior Ryder Cup, and the 2024 Curtis Cup.
Despite facing setbacks, including penalties that led to missed cuts at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, Davis remains focused and determined. She credits her laid-back approach to the game for her success, saying “You can’t take it too seriously to the point where you’re just getting mad on the golf course. It’s supposed to be fun. You have to treat it that way.” Davis is also part of a talented golfing family – her twin brother Billy is also a rising star, and the two have played together for Auburn. Anna has even caddied for her brother at the 2023 World Wide Technology Championship. With her impressive skills, supportive family, and down-to-earth attitude, Anna Davis is definitely one to watch in the golfing world. She’s already achieved so much, including winning the Girls Junior PGA Championship and helping the US to victory at the 2024 Arnold Palmer Cup.

The Davis family’s wild ride
Anna Davis’s life changed forever when she won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur in April. Her father, Bill Davis, recalls a conversation with fellow golf parent Rick Pano, who predicted, “You have no idea how much your life is going to change.” Five months later, Bill couldn’t agree more. Anna’s victory catapulted her into a whirlwind summer of professional golf tournaments, including the U.S. Women’s Open, the Amundi Evian Championship in France, and the AIG Women’s Open in Scotland. As her dad and de facto travel agent, Bill’s head spun with plane reservations, passwords, and tournament schedules.
As Anna’s star rose, her family was along for the ride. Bill marveled at his daughter’s newfound fame, from being known as the “girl with the bucket hat” to rubbing shoulders with golf legends. Through it all, Anna remained humble and grateful for the opportunities. Her family’s support was unwavering, even as they navigated the challenges of traveling the world and balancing Anna’s amateur and professional golf careers. As Anna’s father, Bill couldn’t be prouder of his daughter’s accomplishments and the person she’s becoming. So, what are your thoughts on Davis’s career? Let us know in the comment section below!
