‘Adam Scott is not a new name in golf that needs any introduction. He turned pro in 2000 and has been a part of the PGA Tour since 2003. He has bagged 14 wins on the PGA Tour. Shortly after winning the Masters Tournament in 2013, Scott went back to the person he thought was meant for him—now his wife, Marie Kojzar.

The Australian golfer dated his current wife, Marie Kojzar, for a few years until 2008, broke up with her, then dated actress Kate Hudson, and then tennis star Ana Ivanovic. However, the Australian pro started dating Kojzar again in 2013.

Marie Kojzar was born and raised in the capital city of Sweden, Stockholm. She went to the Royal College of Art, founded in Somerset House, London, in 1837 as the Government School of Design, so that she could become an architect.

Well, according to the LinkedIn profile of the Australian pro’s wife, it’s clear that she has fulfilled her dream of becoming an architect. She worked at Alison Brooks Architects Ltd. from July 2008 to July 2009, and then at the Swedish architecture firm Strategisk Arkitektur from 2011 to 2013. She is presently working as an Architectural Assistant for RIBA Part II.

Though Marie is an architect, she started as a nanny for Danish pro golfer Thomas Bjorn in 2001. This was the year when the two lovebirds originally met for the first time. Adam Scott, after staying five years apart from Marie Kojzar realized that she was the one for him.

The multiple PGA and DP World Tour winner tied the knot with her in a secret wedding ceremony in the Bahamas with just a few friends and family members shortly after the 2014 edition of the Masters Tournament. The former number one couldn’t contain his happiness, as he told the Australian Associated Press, “It’s official” in May 2014.

How was the wedding?

The wedding was a surprise, not just because it happened suddenly but also because there was never an engagement ceremony. In the same interview, reflecting further on his happiness, he said, “I am a settled-down man and very happy.” Regretting over the fact that he couldn’t invite more people to their wedding, Scott said, “It was just our family and a few friends, and obviously there are a lot of people we would have liked to have had been there who weren’t, but we decided to have a very low-key affair.” It seems like the lovebirds wanted to make their wedding day special without gaining much attention.

The pair didn’t have much time to book a venue for their wedding ceremony, and they just wanted to get married. The venue didn’t matter much at that time, and they didn’t even dress as fancy as one is supposed to in their wedding, as told by the former world number one to the New York Post, “We dressed up a little bit, but it was still in the backyard.” Adam Scott and Marie Kojzar’s post-wedding life has been going pretty well with their three children.

In their personal lives, the couple has not looked back since they got married. The married couple welcomed their first daughter, Bo Vera Scott, in February 2015. Baby Bo was born at Pindara Hospital on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, with the couple thanking medical staff for the safe arrival of their daughter. Sunshine Coast, Queensland, has a special spot in Scott’s heart, as his parents moved there from Adelaide when he was just nine years old. So, having his first child there must have been pretty special for the former world number one.

Since having their daughter, the couple has welcomed two more kids, Byron and Björn, both boys. Although Adam Scott has not been able to win any majors since 2013, he seems to be pretty content with his personal life. This year, he has an exemption from the US Open 2024. Let’s see how he does in the major, as he must have been craving his second major win.
