LIV Golf had a successful inaugural year in 2022. Now that all the events are over, the Saudi-backed circuit is ready to conquer next year with better circumstances, better teams, and a better golf course. We expect new additions to be part of LIV next year, and big names from the PGA tour are on the list. Next year, LIV will probably have a broadcaster, too, as now the matches are only available online.

As we are close to 2023, LIV has buckled up to set a higher standard. The official Twitter handle of the Saudi-backed tour posted a video that was more like snippets of all the upcoming fun in the look of the past events. It was an accumulation of all the glorious moments of the tour this year. Despite not receiving any support from the PGA tour, as said by Greg Norman, the circuit has come a long way and is ready to up the game next year.
Are fans happy about LIV Golf 2023?
It wasn’t even a few minutes after posting the video that comments from fans swamped the comments section. The compilation of snippets had a caption that encouraged the fans to get their early tickets for the following year’s events.
It also announces the first location of the tour in 2023, which is Adelaide, Australia, from April 21 to 23rd. The caption read, “Get ready for #LIVGolf 2023! We’re excited to announce we are heading to Adelaide, Australia on April 21-23rd. Help us spread the word and grab Early Birdie tickets before prices go up soon!”

The comments had a mixture of reactions from the fans. The rivalry between LIV and PGA has somehow damaged the tour’s rapport. Especially LIV, since a Saudi investment fund backs it up, fans have been against it. Many people, including golfers like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, have vehemently opposed the existence of LIV headed by Greg Norman.

However, LIV defended itself and hosted its first year successfully. Now for the second year, they are heading to Australia, but fans are not happy about it. Weighted by adverse reactions, the comments section was not full of fun parts more. Most of the golf fans did not care about LIV, and also, they criticized the selection of the venue.
Here are some of the reactions of the golf fans on the new beginning of LIV next year.

Who cares? What would be a comparable stroke play field in Australia? Bicentennial Classic?

Adelaide? Where no one wants to go.

Slightly disappointed that it won't be at Royal Adelaide, Adelaide's finest course, although Grange is also a first class layout.

Why are some golf fans against LIV?

According to golf critics, the inception of LIV was called “sportswashing,” as many players supported it. Sportswashing is a practice designed to improve a country or a person’s image with the help of sports. Many golf fans did not like the idea of changing the concept and rules of golf, as LIV has the 54-hole concept.
On the other hand, in a legal showdown, PGA accused LIV of “tortious interference.” Because it encouraged PGA players to violate the contract terms of the current tour and join the Saudi-funded circuit, fans and a few golfers were also unhappy about golfers like Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau. They left the legacy of the PGA behind them.
