Do sponsors like KPMG and Rolex elevate the prestige of the Solheim Cup, or is it all hype?

It is Solheim Cup time! In just a week, 24 incredible golfers from the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour will come together to once again battle out for their country’s pride. This year, the Solheim Cup is on American soil at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club, Gainesville, Virginia. This year’s event will be redemption time for Team USA to take back the prestigious Solheim Cup, which they have lost in the last three editions (2019, 2021, and 2023).

Team USA spearheaded by Stacy Lewis has confirmed her pack of twelve to represent the red, white, and blue at Robert Trent Jones GC. It includes some of the best players like the 14-time LPGA Tour winner, Nelly Korda, world no. 2 Lilia Vu, 11-time LPGA Tour champion, Lexi Thompson, and eight others who will be going head-to-head against Suzann Pettersen’s 12 golfers. As the Team USA seems ready, so have been their sponsors for the 2024 Solheim Cup!

From head to bottom, Team USA’s clothing apparel for the 2024 Solheim Cup is already ready and launched! Similar to how many faces on the 2023 team are returning this year, so is their main sponsor for attire. Last year at the Finca Cortesin, Spain, Team USA wore Dunning Golf. This season as well, Dunning Golf is sponsoring the 12 women on America’s side.

The firm had been working relentlessly with team captain Stacy Lewis and vice-captain Morgan Pressel for the last two years for the 2024 collection. The apparel is navy blue, which has feather patterns on the t-shirt, which has the USA flag on the sleeves paired with a plain skirt with a red stripe.

Talking about the clothes, Pressel said, “What we’ve done is a nod to the military and that’s really important.” On the other hand, the team captain appreciatively said, The team at Dunning has been incredibly collaborative in bringing our patriotic vision to life.” Players like Lexi Thompson and Andrea Lee loved Dunning Golf’s creations. Thompson expressed, “The material is super giving and I love it. Super comfortable. And it’s fashionable”.

Lee also found the design to be comfortable for playing in different weather conditions and said, “The designs are super cool and the designs are super patriotic.” The Dunning Golf attires are exclusively made of COOLMAX ® fabric, which helps the golfers stay cool even with hot and humid temperatures, which makes them sweat endlessly. Team USA’s clothing sponsors don’t stop Dunning Golf, there are two more in the basket.

Who is the hat sponsor for Team USA at the Solheim Cup? 

Unlike the Ryder Cup, there has been no ‘hatgate’ at the Solheim Cup in any year. So, representing the Americans, Imperial has come forward as the official hat partner for Team USA. It will be the second consecutive year that Imperial has provided the hats for Team USA. In June a new collection was launched with bold colors and a unique pattern, something similar will be given to the USA golfers.

Coming to the outerwear provided, Team USA has collaborated with Zero Restriction for the third time in the last four editions. The two first partnered up for the 2019 Gleneagles Solheim Cup. At that time, the focus was on beating the high wind and low temperatures in Scotland, but for this edition, Zero Restriction has produced outerwear with average temperatures being in the 80s High, and mostly sunny days.

The twelve golfers would only be seen in all their glory on September 13th, till then, the fans will have to wait to see the new look of the 2024 Team USA at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.

Virginia Tourism becomes a part of the Solheim Cup

Over the last two months, while the two sides finalized their teams, the Solheim Cup onboarded a new Global Partner. Virginia Tourism Corporation, which has the iconic slogan ‘Virginia is For Lover’ as the brand voice, is the international event’s latest partner for the year, and will promote the event via various schemes.

The Corporation will hold the opening ceremony of the Solheim Cup at the Great Lawn of the Robert Trent Jones GC. Additionally, there will also be a concert for the fans on Thursday, September 12th for the fans.

Talking to the press conference after the announcement, President and CEO of VTC Rita McClenny said, “We are excited for this wonderful opportunity to showcase our iconic Virginia is For Lovers brand on the world stage.” Even, the LPGA Tour Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan was excited about it as she expressed, “We cannot wait to showcase the talent of our world-class athletes and the beauty, the sporting passion and hospitality of this wonderful Commonwealth.” 

VTC is additionally joined by Rolex, Hilton, Skyscanner, and PING as the Global Partners of the Solheim Cup and will proudly represent all there is to see in Virginia state.
