Over the two seasons of LIV Golf, 4Aces GC, has been the most successful team. Dustin Johnson’s men won four consecutive events before taking their final tally to five at the inaugural season. 4Aces GC remains at the top of the leaderboard this year again. At the tail-end of the 2023 season, Johnson’s men will travel to Jeddah before moving to Miami for the season finale on October 20.
The breakaway circuit features 12 teams with four players in each outfit. From this year, the team remains unchanged for the rest of the season. Ahead of the showdown in Jeddah, a rundown of the four golfers who are looking to win back-to-back titles this season.

Like Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC, Johnson’s squad has gone through changes. Initially, the team had Dustin Johnson, Oliver Bekker, Shaun Norris, and Kevin Yuan. But Johnson was not happy with the squad and went for a complete overhaul after the season opener last year.
First, Patrick Reed, Talor Gooch and Pat Perez replaced Oliver Bekker, Shaun Norris, and Kevin Yuan. Last season, all four of them featured within the top ten in the individual rankings. There was one more exit. Gooch, the former Torque GC captain, was traded for Peter Uihlein this year.
Dustin Johnson – the veteran captain at the helm
Dustin Johnson was one of the biggest names to switch to the Saudi-backed golf circle for a reported fee of $150 million. For the 4Aces GC, the 24-time PGA Tour winner is the captain of the ship, and the master of the roster. Johnson has managed the dual role with skill & dexterity.
Under his stewardship, 4Aces GC notched up five victories in eight tournaments last year. Johnson popping a champagne bottle at the podium became a famous image of LIV golf. The two-time Major winner, himself, finished at the top of the individual leaderboard that season.
Patrick Reed — the ‘Captain America’ of 4Aces GC
Better known as ‘Captain America’ among his fans for his outbursts at Hazeltine during the 2016 Ryder Cup, Reed is a valued member of the 4Aces team. Despite being an American, he used to frequent the courses on European soil more than the golf courses in his home country. Honoring him, DP World Tour, conferred lifetime membership in 2019. That was all before the relationship turned sour after his Saudi switch.
Since then the 33-year-old golfer won four back-to-back tournaments with the 4Aces. Despite playing for LIV Golf, he wishes for an amicable solution to the LIV-PGA-DP World Tour imbroglio so that he can return to European soil once again. More than his exploits at the Saudi-backed circle, fans probably remember him for the melee with Rory McIlroy, that lasted till the 18 hole at Dubai earlier this year in the final rounds of Hero Dubai Desert Classic.
Pat Perez — the golfer who works hard, parties harder
Perez was one of the lesser-known golfers to pledge allegiance to the PIF-funded league. Although, the actual transfer fee has not been revealed, by reports it was no less than $10 million.
Nevertheless, the 47-year-old golfer has been a steady performer in Johnson’ team, finishing at eight on the individual leaderboard last year. One of the most enduring images from last year’s campaign is a pumped-up Perez dancing to the blaring music after winning the season finale at Miami.
Although Pat Perez never had to face the heat from his fans or fellow golfers for jumping ship, he has found a vigorous backer of his LIV switch in his wife, the outspoken, Ashley Perez. However, that has deflected a lot of negative light toward him as well because of his wife’s comments on Tiger Woods’ accident and most recently, because of her Instagram comment on Rory McIlroy.

Currently playing with his boss, Yasir Al-Rumayyan at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, the American golfer joined LIV in 2022. Since then, he went on to bag five top-10 finishes, most recently finishing at no.5 in LIV Chicago in September. Uihlein won the US Amateur in 2010. The former no. 1 amateur also won the Madeira Islands Open in 2013.

The 4Aces currently sits at the top of the LIV leaderboard with 188 points under their name. The next two LIV tours will be played in Jeddah and Miami. With DeChambeau’s Crushers GC breathing down their neck, Johnson’s men will look to increase their 10-point lead to finish their season on top of the leaderboard.
