How much credit do Hideki Matsuyama's parents deserve for his success on the PGA Tour?

Hideki Matsuyama turned pro in 2013 and is currently living his dream on the PGA Tour. This Japanese golfer has had 10 victories on the American Tour. His parents were the ones who built his foundation of golf and introduced him to the sport at the age of 4. So, thanks to them, on 11 April 2021, Matsuyama won the Masters Tournament, becoming both the first Japanese player and the first Asian-born player to win the prestigious tournament.

Hideki Matsuyama was born on 25 February 1992 in Matsuyama, Ehime, Japan. No, it has nothing to do with the golfer’s surname; it’s just a coincidence. He spent his early life in Japan and graduated from Tohoku Fukushi University, a private university in Sendai, Miyagi. Despite being in public light almost all the time, he is a private person who does not like to put his family under the spotlight. He barely has any personal photographs on his social media.

As per some reports, his father’s name is Mikio Matsuyama, a former club champion. Matsuyama hasn’t revealed anything about his mother so far but her name is Saori. However, the golfer seems to have inherited his father’s golfing skills. When he was just nine, the golfer wanted to move to a different school for a better golf environment, and his father agreed.
