Checked the tee times for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship yet? The PGA Tour has snuck in a nice little surprise for the fans. The ever-so-popular Bryan Bros. will tee off in the same group for the first two rounds. It’s also the first time George Bryan IV and Wesley Bryan will pair up in a competitive match.
The Bryan brothers are quite the celebrities on YouTube. Since 2014. And Wesley also has one PGA Tour win under his belt: the 2017 RBC Heritage. He came close to adding one more silverware to his trophy cabinet this year. However, Bryan’s march was stopped short at the Corales Puntacana Championship with a runner-up finish.
George, his older brother, teed off in the Myrtle Beach Classic. The 36-year-old first tried to enter via the Monday Qualifier route, which allowed a host of golf content creators to enter the field. He missed the mark but eventually received a sponsor exemption. However, George Bryan IV missed the cut.

Their YouTube journey first started with instructional videos, golf tips, and then golf trips. Meanwhile, Wesley Bryan was steady in his pursuit of a PGA Tour spot, which he got in 2016. The Harbour Town victory the next year has been his lone podium finish, however.

Notably, the duo was also in the Creator Classic field. At East Lake, George Bryan IV carded 1-over. Whereas, his younger brother finished 2-under after nine holes in regulation. But the result was decided via a sudden-death one-hole playoff among the top four. Luke Kwon emerged victorious courtesy of a 15-foot birdie putt.

What’s your perspective on:
Will the Bryan Bros. make history at the Bermuda Championship, or is it just a novelty act?
Have an interesting take?
Wesley Bryan has failed to book a weekend spot in five of his last six starts. Nevertheless, the rarity of two siblings playing together is indeed an incentive for fans. Some went ahead and demanded featured group coverage for the two. The Bryan brothers are, however, the second such pairing in recent times.
Sibling pairing is rare in the PGA Tour history
Interestingly, only a few months ago, the Coody siblings created history on the PGA Tour. Parker and Pierceson Coody became the first twins to be paired in the same group. They were in the driving range when the notification popped up. Technical glitch? That’s what they thought at first.

It wasn’t. Neither was it a deliberate grouping by the tour officials. They were paired randomly. Before them, the Hojgaard brothers had the chance. Nicolai and Rasmus Hojgaard have played in multiple tournaments together, including two majors. But they have never been paired in the first two rounds.
Seen from that lens, the Bryan Bros. pairing together is also a rare event. Notably, this is the only third PGA Tour event where both siblings are in the field. They will team up with Camiko Smith, a close family friend, at 11.47 AM ET from the 10th tee.
