Behind every professional golfer, there are some hands to push and motivate the aspirant to get the best at the course. Something similar happened with Adam Scott. Though not just in his childhood, but even today, his support system has been the greatest with his parents, wife, and children supporting him at each event of his professional career.

The 14-time PGA Tour winner started to play at the age of 5, thanks to his parents who had played golf earlier and built a strong foundation for the professional. During his childhood, Adam Scott and his father Phil Scott played every sport, including cricket, handball, tennis, and racquetball. But the bloodline sport followed him. Let’s explore more about his parents in detail.

Phil Scott and Pam Scott, the parents of Adam Scott, are based in Adelaide, Australia. On one hand, his mother has kept a low profile and there isn’t much information available about her. On the other, his father, who handles his sponsorships and investments, has been seen actively supporting the Australian professional.

Phil Scott, apart from being a support pillar, has an interesting story of his golfing life. He started playing when he was 14 in the UK, where he was on a sabbatical during his school time. His cousin introduced him to the game and since then he has been playing. By the age of 16, he was looking to pursue golf professionally for which his friend Ted advised him to become a trainee and get to qualify by the age of 19.

However, being the trainee and during the qualifying stage, he met with an accident that shattered his right leg. Though his dream of becoming a professional was left unachieved, he trained little Scott from the initial day to become a professional. During the early days of junior Scott, his father used to caddie for him.

Sharing about the early days, Phil Scott said during an interview with Australian Golf Digest, “Adam growing up while I was running golf clubs and he was a golfer, well, he just came to the golf club. That’s what I did for a living. So it was natural. And the truth is I never had to push him. I was never put in a position where I had to think, Do I push or not push.”

Adam Scott’s Wife

After the parents, there is someone else who has been the major support pillar for the older one since his professional career. It is none other than his wife, Marie Kojzar. As per Bunkered, the Swedish architect met the golfer in 2001, one year after he turned pro. Kojzar was born in Sweden, Stockholm, and has done her graduation from the Royal College of Art. Kojzar, according to her LinkedIn profile, has worked at Alison Brooks Architect Ltd. and Strategisk Arkitektur (Swedish Architecture Firm) from 2011 to 2013.

Though with the limited appearance and no social media posts, it is hard to catch the couple together. Besides that, Adam Scott’s interviews and social media have helped to gain information about his wife. The couple met in 2001 when Kojzar was a nanny for the professional golfer Thomas Bjorn. Since then, the relationship til 2008 was on and off. They broke up in 2008, but went back together and later tied the knot in 2014.

The wedding had close friends and family attendance, with a private setup in the backyard of Scott’s home in the Bahamas. Surprisingly, the couple kept the marriage a secret from their guests. That’s when the support system got bigger with three beautiful kids.

Similar to the marriage, the golfer and his wife have kept the children away from the spotlight. In February 2015, Kojzar gave birth to their first daughter Bo Vera Scott. Afterward, two more children were welcomed. Byron and Bjorn are the two sons after the eldest daughter. However, the birth year of the two sons remains undisclosed.

The last time the kids were spotted with the golfer was at the Pro-AM Day at RACV Royal Pines Resort in 2019. The family lives happily in the Bahamas and in Switzerland.
