Many young golfers come with a dream of winning LPGA Tour victories, and for Kim Lim, that dream has become a reality with three impressive wins, including the 2020 U.S. Women’s Open, the 2024 LOTTE Championship presented by Hoakalei, and the 2025 Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. But surely, this kind of success requires a rock-solid support system and people who have your back no matter what. Well, the same is the case with Kim Lim, so let’s explore more about her support system, shall we?

Growing up with a dream of becoming a golfer, Kim Lim started playing golf at a young age and turned professional at just 18, after attending Hanseo High School, Yangdong Middle School, and Yong In University. Her early career was marked by steady progress as she began competing on the KLPGA in 2016 and soon racked up her first win on the tour at the 2018 Pak Se-ri Invitational, followed by another victory at the 2019 MY Munyoung Queens Park Championship.

Throughout all her ups and downs, one person has always been a constant source of support and guidance for A Lim Kim – her caddie, Bruce Lowe. But Bruce’s journey to becoming Lim’s trusted caddie is a fascinating one. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Bruce has had a globetrotting upbringing, having lived in France and Switzerland as well.

Bruce’s passion for golf was ignited during his college days in the UK, where he played college golf and even turned down offers from top D1 schools in the US. He went on to compete in top amateur level events and even participated in a few Sunshine Tour events. As a caddie, Bruce loves the thrill of traveling to new destinations, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures every week. His partnership with Lim Kim has been a successful one, and together, they make a formidable team on the golf course.

While Kim’s professional life is well-documented, her personal life remains somewhat of a mystery. There was zero to no info present about her parents on the internet, A Lim Kim still didn’t leave any chance to mention them.

A Kim Lim remembers her parents amid struggles

In 2021, Kim returned to the Republic of Korea for the BMW Ladies Championship, and the first thing on her mind was reuniting with her parents.  Despite feeling jet-lagged and struggling to adjust to the time zone, Kim admitted, “I still have to adjust to the time zone… I’m still jet-lagged. I really want to go to sleep now.” Kim’s love for her parents is palpable, and it’s clear that they hold a special place in her heart. She’s often spoken about the importance of family in her life, and it’s lovely to see her prioritize her relationships with her loved ones.

As Kim navigated the challenges of competing on the LPGA Tour, she had her fair share of ups and downs. With her sights set on qualifying for the CME Group Tour Championship, Kim was determined to finish the season strong. Reflecting on her year, Kim expressed her gratitude for the experiences she had, the people she met, and the lessons she learned. “I had a really, really happy year. I think I learned a lot, and I think that it was going to really help my career in the long run,” she said. Kim’s positive attitude and resilience in the face of adversity were truly inspiring, and she went on to make a lasting impact in the golf world.
