Tiger Woods is the most prodigious golfer of his generation and arguably the greatest of all time. In his prime, Woods scripted one incredible feat after another, many of which are genuinely unbreakable. Despite his unparalleled achievements in the sport, however, golf had to take a backseat in his life once his daughter, Sam, was born.

Over the years, Woods’ beautiful relationship with his daughter has come to the surface many times, winning the hearts of fans. In fact, he never shies away from publicly voicing his love and fondness for children Sam and Charlie. “My kids now dominate my life and I think that’s a good thing,” Woods had said in a 2017 Good Morning America interview.

However, as his daughter grows up, the 15-time major winner has also come to harbor several inhibitions like any normal parent. On the occasion of Father’s Day, let’s dive into how one of the golfer’s irrational fears may soon come true!

Tiger Woods had once opened up to Jada Pinkett Smith about his daughter Sam

Over two years ago, Tiger Woods and actress and talk show host Jada Pinkett Smith, came together for a beautiful episode of the show, A Round With Tiger. While both friends threw light on various aspects of their lives, the highlight of the episode came when they spoke about the trials and tribulations of being a parent.

Smith, who, like Woods, has two kids, had asked the golfer about the lessons he had learned from his daughter. “What has my daughter taught me? I don’t like boys,” proclaimed the golfer proudly. “She’s such like my.. daddy’s little girl, you know.” Later, however, the golfer confessed that Sam had taught him to be “more patient.

I don’t ever want her to leave home,” he further added. “My little girl.” However, Woods’ fears may soon come true. Sam has just turned 16, on the occasion of Father’s Day nonetheless! It means the doting dad may soon have to fend off or scare away her boyfriends!

But, no matter how old Sam gets, she will always cherish her father. After all, her moving speech from Woods’ Hall of Fame ceremony last year not only revealed her close bond with the golfer but made many cry!

Sam Alexis Woods was born to her parents, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, on June 18, 2007. The golfer had to rush to the hospital in Orlando to witness her birth after losing the US Open title by one stroke in Pittsburgh. In her heartening introduction at her father’s Hall of Fame ceremony, Sam had touched upon the special moment.

Within five minutes of walking into the hospital room, still wearing his red golf shirt, on June 18, I was born,” she had said. “He may have lost that day, but he won the greatest gift of all.” Sam even offered an insight into a side of her dad that many were unaware of, telling the audience about how the busy golfer was a regular presence at violin concerts and soccer games. The 16-year-old also opened up about her fears after Woods’ tragic 2021 car accident, wherein he brutally injured his right leg. “You’ve defied the odds every time,” she proudly observed in her speech.

More recently, the hands-on father has been seen beside his son and budding golfer, Charlie. As he recuperates from his recent ankle surgery, Woods was present to see the 14-year-old talent lift the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship in Royal Palm Beach, Florida, earlier this month.
