While Nelly Korda Goes in Sulking Mode, Lexi Thompson Has Another Way to Deal With Last Weekend’s Disappointment; Fans Love It

The 18th edition of the Solheim Cup ended in a time and Team Europe retained their trophy at Finca Cortesín, Spain last week. In a crucial singles match on Sunday, it was Carlota Ciganda who took the world by storm and won on her home soil against Nelly Korda. Her win ensured the trophy would stay with Europe.

Players have different ways of moving on from the loss. As Nelly Korda takes a break from playing, probably sulking because of her loss against Ciganda, Lexi Thompson has hit the course again and fans are loving it!

The loss from last week is still afresh for the players of Team US. We all remember the important putt by Carlota Ciganda against Nelly Korda or the 4-0 sweep by the Americans in the Friday Foursomes session. The players are adjusting back to their lifestyle and with the defeat.

Lexi Thompson, despite the fact many questioned her place in the side, shined through her Solheim Cup performances and stunned the critics. The lady in black had 3 wins in four match-ups. Her 2 & 1 victory against Emily Pederson in the last singles was commendable as it denied Team Europe an outright win. 

Within days, the golfer is back on the course while her teammate Nelly Korda has decided to take a much-needed break. It can’t be ruled out Korda is not too pleased following her showing. 

Unlike Lexi, Nelly has taken a different approach to adjusting. She’ll be missing the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G and the Ladies European Tour’s Lacoste Ladies Open de France’s Tournament. The break, hopefully, will help Korda to work through her entangled emotions after the loss.

Lexi Thompson has been, is, and will always be The Icon!

While Lexi was seen gracing the course at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship’s Pro-Am session. She Shared the same on her Instagram, bringing out the encouragement from her fans.

This one fan was gaga over her idol and said, “Lexi Thompson has been, is, and will always be The Icon! She’s 1 of 1.”

Another uplifted the morale of the golfer in the wake of the Solheim Cup tie by saying, “Don’t forget to have fun and remember, you have done more for the growth of women’s golf and are the idol for many little girls! Keep a sense of humor and remember what you said earlier this year ‘IT’S NOT THAT BAD’!!”

One fan comforted her by urging her to have fun because regardless of win or loss “you have millions of fans rooting for you! God bless!🥰”. Another urged her to keep up the good work at the ongoing event. “Go get them fairways and greens.” One commented on her determination and said, “All the shit she’s taken lately and still doing these things with a smile on her face! What a girl.”

Reminding her of the Solheim Cup performance, this fan said, “Play well lexis as I know you have the right fire after Solheim go with all that strong faith👏🔥❤️ .” The Solheim Cup has not been in the favor of Team US but fans have certainly not lost affection for their favorite players.
