Rory McIlroy has had a jampacked schedule on the DP Tour as well as the PGA Tour this year and his gameplay on the greens has left his fans anticipating more. Now, the player is about to finish his last DP Tour tourney, and after that, his TGL with Tiger Woods will wait for him at the beginning of 2024. 

As per reports, the player is going to be a part of an inaugural event in January. If you guessed it to be TGL, then you are only partially correct because 5 days after TGL, McIlroy is going to play at his LIV rival’s designed course. Here’s the full scoop. 

What are Rory McIlroy’s 2024 plans?

This year, Rory McIlroy played in a total of 21 tourneys, out of which he won 3. His wins also included a team win at the 2023 Ryder Cup. After all this bustle, his last DP Tour event is the upcoming World Tour Championship in November.  

As the golf world reaches a seasonal stop, an update about McIlroy’s schedule has left everyone shocked. National Golf Club posted a link to McIlroy’s schedule on Twitter recently. The Tweet read: “The Northern Irishman is starting to piece together his schedule for the start of 2024.”

Looking at McIlroy’s upcoming schedule, the player is going to be part of an inaugural Dubai Invitational in January. This tourney is going to take place just 5 days after his highly anticipated tech-TGL kickstarts. An interesting bit about the game is that the golfer will be playing on the course designed by his PGA and TGL rival Greg Norman. 

The reports have also claimed that after his January schedule, the player is going to play at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. Now, as McIlroy gears up for his 2024 events, do you know how his 2023 year has been so far? Well, here’s a quick glance at it.

To begin with, in 2023, Rory McIlroy won the Ryder Cup as a part of Team Europe. This achievement for him was a big one considering that he lost the cup to Team America in 2021. After his performance on the greens at the 2021 Ryder Cup, McIlroy had admitted that he was unhappy because seeing how much work his team put into play, he felt like he had disappointed his teammates. This year, after the Team won against America, the player was able to redeem himself.

McIlroy won the Genesis Scottish Open this year. Something to also note is his performance at the Open Championship, irrespective of the fact that he did not win. It gained him appreciation from the golfing community.
