As LIV Golf prepares for the 2024 season, they have added to their arsenal. Lawrence J. Burian, a former senior executive of Madison Square Garden Sports, has joined LIV Golf as the Chief Operating Officer (COO). 

Burian is the latest addition to the Greg Norman squad as the LIV Golf and PGA Tour merger gets closer to the deadline. All the signs point to a very exciting season in 2024.

Mr. Burian has worked closely with different MSG ventures like the New York Knicks (NBA), New York Rangers (NHL), Boston Calling Music Festival, the Tribeca Film Festival, and more. He had worked at the MSG for more than a decade and in various posts.

At LIV, he will handle human resources, global impact, investments and management, strategy planning, and development. CEO Greg Norman commented on his addition and said, “Lawrence is a proven leader and a proven winner, and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on our executive leadership team.”

Burian is himself excited to join and succeed in the two-year-old league and grow it to reach its ambitious goals. The former COO, Gary Davidson, said, “We are thrilled to have him on the team and I’m excited to continue supporting him and LIV Golf into 2024.”

As the league embarked on its third season, its loyal golfer, Phil Mickelson, made a confident remark on PGAT golfers joining before the final team event occurred.

Phil Mickelson supports LIV Golf once again

Phil Mickelson was asked various questions about LIV Golf on Wednesday. One of them was about how the second year did not see many players joining the league. Does he think new players will join in the third year?

Lefty said, “Do I think that? No, I know that’s going to happen.” He further added that players are excited to be added and said, “When players look at LIV, they are wanting to be a part of it,” because LIV Golf has better camaraderie and benefits for players.
