The second major of the season on the LPGA Tour is just about to begin in a few hours. Everyone, including spectators and golfers, is excited to witness the magic and competition unravel at one of the most spectacular golf courses in America, the Lower Course at Baltusrol Golf Club. As LPGA golfers gear up for the major championship, one of them remembers the legend who has excelled marvelously at Baltusrol, Jack Nicklaus.
Baltustrol is named one of the top 100 courses in America. In its history of over 12 decades, the golf course has been home to many major tournaments. Though the golfers have won on this difficult course, there are a few who have shown a memorable game.

LPGA star shares her secret Jack Nicklaus mantra for the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship
Before the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship begins in New Jersey, the LPGA golfers are there for the practice sessions and pre-tournament press conferences. One of the golfers, Jin Young Ko, shared in her press conference an added thing that she did to take on one of the most pristine courses.
When asked about what she knew about the course before coming here, the 10-time LPGA Tour winner said that she had heard that Baltusrol is a very historic golf course and that it is definitely a good one. The interviewer asked if she had watched videos of any of the previous championships, and she replied affirmatively and shared that Jack Nicklaus’ videos were playing on the course.
The field of the best 155 female golfers is all set to go head-to-head to win pride, honor, and a whopping $9 million purse at Baltusrol. Winning a major championship is a huge honor in itself, but winning it at such a difficult and iconic course is what makes the victory even more special.
Jack Nicklaus is one of the few golfers to put on an amazing show at New Jersey’s stellar course. The world No. 1 indeed chose the right videos to learn about the course.

The Golder Bear’s history at Baltustrol
Legendary golfers such as Arnold Palmer and Ben Hogan have competed at the Tillinghast course in Springfield. Nicklaus won two U.S. Open championships at Baltusrol, one as an in-his-prime 27-year-old in 1967 and one as a fading 40-year-old in 1980.

His 1967 win was the seventh major victory of his career, and the game he displayed was just 4 rounds of brilliant golf. What made his 1980 victory even more special was that it was his first victory in 2 years. The Golden Bear had not won a single tournament since 1978, and then suddenly he put forth a stunning display of his skill and won himself his 16th of his 18 majors, proving to everyone that he wasn’t done yet!
