As the 2023 Amundi Evian Championship came to a close at the Evian Resort Golf Club, it served as a tournament that tested the spirits of many experienced players. The hype for the women’s major had reached an all-time high as the final round was played on Sunday. Moreover, the golfing community experienced much drama and excitement because of the tournament.

On the intense course at Evian Resort, Nelly Korda, along with many other experienced LPGA players, were not able to bring about their desired result. While the local favorite Celine Boutier went on to lift the title, the American golf star and her fellow players made sure to drown out the loss with a ‘Swiss’ cure of their own!

The recently concluded championship saw a lot of players duke it out on the golf course. Even as they put up a stunning display of skill, technique, and determination, the likes of Korda, Alison Lee, and Megan Khang could not place themselves in the top position. This, however, did not stop them from making the best use of their time in Europe.

In a recent Instagram story shared by the three players, they are seen going out for dinner at a restaurant. The trio was seen engaging in Chinese cuisine at Chinois Tse-Fung in Geneva, Switzerland. Although just an hour away from the Evian Resort Golf Club, which is located in Southeastern France, they traveled to the neighboring country as they went ahead to dive into some food to serve as an antidote for their loss.

After being beaten by the French favorite, who went on to win her first major championship, the trio took it in good spirits and made sure to enjoy themselves for the day before starting their travel on Monday. One can hope that the Swiss therapy was effective, as the LPGA stars will now gear up for the last and final major championship in August.

The trio’s performance at the Major

The championship saw a French player claim the trophy for the first time in history, with Boutier scoring a remarkable 14-under-par 270 and taking home the prize money of $1 million. Although putting on a remarkable performance, Korda and Khang had to settle for a T9 finish with a score of 279 (-5) while Lee finished in the 20th position, scoring 2-under-par 282. The top-10 pair took home $122,100, while the latter received $65,045.

As Celine reigned supreme in the field of 132 players in the major championship, world No. 2 Nelly saw herself being beaten by the French player at the 15th position in the rankings. One can hope that the American golf pro and the rest can put up a better finish at the next tournament.
