In the realm of golf, one of the biggest achievements that defines a player is the number of major championships they have won. A golfing career is not glorious if there is not a major win in it, if truth be told.

TGL and LIV Golf are the two biggest talked-about leagues in the world of golf currently. The focus has indeed shifted to Tiger Woods‘ tech-savvy TGL and Greg Norman’s Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Let’s check out who has the maximum number of major wins on their roster.

Tiger Woods’ TGL roster has just been confirmed to have a field of 24 players. While Woods and McIlroy have opted to include some big names in the golfing domain, there are also some new faces that will be seen in action in the tech-driven league.

Now, if we look at the titles, the TGL leaderboard features 32 major wins over the past three decades. Of course, as Woods is a part of the field, his wins are also counted, which are considerably more in number than the rest. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the players’ 32 major victories.

1. The Masters:

Woods and Rory’s TGL flaunts a badge of 7 Masters wins and among those 7, more than half are contributed by Woods (5), followed by John Rahm and Adam Scott who have both contributed one each.

2. PGA Championship:

The roster has 10 PGA Championship wins. Woods (4), Rory McIlroy (2), Jon Rahm (1), Justin Thomas (2), and Collin Morikawa (1) have contributed to this.

3. The Open Championship:

The TGL members in total have collected 7 Open Championship wins, which is a considerably large number. Woods (3), Rory (1), Shane Lowry (1), Rahm (1), and Morikawa (1) are the winners here.

4. The US Open:

Now that we have a rough sketch of how TGL aims at building an image for itself in professional golf, here’s what LIV Golf’s scoreboard reflects.

LIV golf has a total field of 48 players, and over the span of last 20 years, they have accumulated a sum of 25 major wins. The roster is merely an illustration of how LIV Golf wants to be perceived by the golf community. Over the course of the past year, LIV has strategically and controversially assembled its players.

1. The Masters:

LIV has won nine Masters tournaments overall. Phil Mickelson has won maximum three. Bubba Watson has won two. Sergio Garcia, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, and Charl Schwartzel have won one each.

 2. PGA Championship:

As far as the PGA Championship is concerned, the LIV players’ field is not as far behind. The current roster features 6 wins, with players like Brooks Koepka having won the title three times. Mickelson follows Koepka as a two-time winner, and German pro Martin Kaymer has won the title once.

3. The Open Championship:

The field holds just 3 Open Championship wins, with one each by Cameron Smith, Mickelson, and Henrik Stenson.

4. The US Open:

There are 6 US Open Champions in the league, with Koepka being a two-time winner, followed by one-time winners like Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Kaymer, Graeme McDowell, and Louis Oosthuizen.

By the looks of it, it seems pretty clear that both Leagues have cleverly collected players who have left a mark on the greens, and now they aim at being part of something new with TGL and LIV. Even after all this though, a question still lingers: what the above numbers signify?
