Arnold Palmer participated in 47 DP World Tour events (formerly the European Tour) throughout his career. Despite being primarily focused on the PGA Tour, Palmer made several appearances in European events and was instrumental in raising the profile of the Tour during its formative years. His influence on the European Tour was significant, even though his schedule was mostly dominated by his commitments on the PGA Tour.
His career on the DP World Tour included notable victories, with Palmer winning two events— the 1975 Spanish Open and the 1975 Penfold PGA Championship, which was also a major triumph. Here is all you need to know about the two victories of the golfing legend in the European Tour.
Arnold Palmer’s win at the 1975 Spanish Open was one of the biggest milestones he had achieved in his professional golfing career. In the Sunday round, he managed to grab a one-stroke lead ahead of John Fourie, scoring a 5-under. The entire season was a great one for him because he had already acquired a lot of accolades that year, the 1964 Masters being one of the most important ones. This also brought him 5,223.88 DP World Tour points along with a whopping $14000, which used to be a lot of money back then.

Just a month later in the same year in May 1975, Arnold Palmer managed to clinch his second and last victory on the European Tour at the Penfold PGA Championship. Although Eamonn Darcy had managed to score 67 and 69 in the second and third rounds, on Sunday, he ended up with a disappointing 78. This was what gave Arnold Palmer the winning hand. Although he did not score even one round below 70, with a 71 on the final day, he managed to defeat Darcy with a two-stroke lead and win at the Royal St George’s GC, Sandwich in Kent, England.
While Arnold Palmer’s run at the DP World Tour might not have been a long-lived one, he made sure that he changed the dynamics of golf by playing on the PGA Tour. He remains among the golfers to have scored the highest number of victories on the Tour.
