It’s finally time for the Senior Tour to turn up the heat! After the men’s game visited Pinehurst No. 2 for the U.S. Open, the Senior Tour is set to bring festivities for its polished Champions this weekend! But where? Well, the third of the powerful five majors of the Senior Tour will be held at the Newport Country Club in Rhode Island from June 27th to June 30th, 2024.

This venue has over a century-long legacy, starting long back in 1894. It’s famous for being one of the five founding member clubs of the United States Golf Association. The other four being the Shinnecock Hills, St. Andrew’s Golf Club, Chicago Golf Club, and The Country Club in Brookline. Having hosted the likes of the U.S. Open, the U.S. Amateur, and the U.S. Women’s Open in the past, this will be the first time the Newport Country Club will host the 44th U.S. Senior Open.

Since the start of its now four-decade-long history in 1980, the event has traveled through over 36 different locations. The only venue to have repeatedly hosted the event thrice is Saucon Valley. While the USGA planned for Newport to be one of its hosts in 2020, their plans could not reach fruition due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, four years since this par-4 heavy course is set to have legends like defending champion Bernhard Langer, Steve Stricker, Padraig Harrington, Ernie Els, Colin Montgomerie, Retief Goosen, Vijay Singh, Alex Cejka, and more!

This crucial part of the Rhode Island Golf Association will host a whopping total of 156 of the world’s best professional and amateur senior golfers. The USGA has flipped the nines for the championship. What is ordinarily the 10th hole will be the 568-yard par-5 first hole for Champions teeing it up at this beautiful property. The course has a surplus of twelve par-4 holes, four par-3 holes, and two par-5 holes, totaling up to its 18-hole magnificence that stretches up to par-70 7,024 yards! But how can you get an entry into this history of excellence-packed greens?

How much is a ticket to the 2024 U.S. Senior Open?

The tickets for the Rhode Island event can be accessed for a variety of packages, with different prices and facilities starting from $25 – $275. The options include the Daily Founders Club, the Daily Gallery, the Weekly Founders Club, the Weekly Gallery, and the Gallery 5-Pack.

There is a special provision for children 17 and under. They are allowed to obtain a complimentary Gallery ticket for any of the days provided they are accompanied by a ticketed or credentialed adult. Such an adult can tag along an upper limit of four free children’s tickets. Further, active and retired military members also have the option to get a free ticket, and tag along one guest with them, provided they register online beforehand.
