After the action-packed competition of male golfers at the Olympics, the eyes are now on the PGA Tour’s 2024 Wyndham Championship. The tournament will commence from August 8th to August 11th at the Sedgefield Course Club in Greensboro, North Carolina. Just like the other championship courses, the 2024 Wyndham Championship’s venue also has its history.
Donald Ross designed the course in 1926, and it is currently situated at an elevation of 830 feet. It is a private course owned by McConnell Golf LLC. Just like other courses, this is also an 18-hole course with 70,717 yards. Although the Wyndham Championship was held at Forest Oaks Country Club after 1976, it returned to Sedgefield Country Club in 2008 and has been played there ever since.
A year before the move, Kris Spence renovated the course. This project took 10 months to complete and costed a whopping $3 million. The renovated course now has undulating greens and rolling fairways that are challenging as well as interesting for the pros. Thanks to the renovation, it’s now in the top 20 courses, as per Golf.com. The final field for the event isn’t confirmed yet; however, it’s confirmed that the likes of 2025 Ryder Cup captain and 2024 Presidents Cup Vice-Captain Keegan Bradley, 3x major winner Jordan Spieth, and more will be part of the field, as revealed on the tournament’s website.
