The 2024 RSM Classic will be the 15th version of the event after debuting in 2010. Ever since its beginning, the Sea Island Golf Club has hosted the tournament. The entire club comprises three golf courses of nearly around 7000 yards each. The two golf courses hosting the RSM Classic will be the Seaside Course and the Plantation Course.
Significantly, the pros complete for a score below 70 par the 18 holes on the Seaside Course. It features broad fairways and spacious greens that are beautifully designed beside the Atlantic Ocean. Moreover, the perfectly manicured course also presents excellent challenges for the pros with roughs packed with wildflowers and strategically placed bunkers. C.H. Alison and Harry S. Colt originally designed the course in 1929. The entire course stretches across 7005 yards.
They constructed the Plantation Course a few years before the Seaside Course in 1928. Stretching across 7060 yards, the course is played for 72-par 18 holes. Designed by Walter Travis, the course experienced major reconstructions by Davis Love III and Mark Love in 2018. They lowered the greens a bit to add to the challenges it has to offer. The course is known for its classic features like railroad ties, bulkheads, and a Principal’s Nose design on the 10th.
