Jordan Spieth has been one of the fan’s favorites in all the events he participated in. And why wouldn’t he? The American professional is the youngest Masters winner in history. However, with his recent performance, many will not agree with it. The 31-year-old has a reason behind his performance, showcasing an up-and-down pattern.
After a long break due to wrist surgery in August 2024, the golfer had been away from the course and couldn’t even practice for the longest. The result of this can be seen in his performance in the three events he participated in. His 2025 debut at Pebble Beach was rough with that T69 finish. In contrast, did you see his comeback at Phoenix? The T4 finish felt like he was back in the game.
But ahead, Jordan Spieth missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational, disappointing fans after his strong finish at Pebble Beach. On the bright side, that finish boosted him from 84th to 65th in the OWGR. But he’s still got a way to go to qualify for the signature event. So, where’s he headed next?

The next event of the tour is the Mexico Open, and Spieth has not been keen to participate in that, looking at his previous year’s schedule. Ain’t like the past few years, Spieth might hit up the Cognizant Classic this time. Similar to the past two signature events, Spieth might have to rely on the sponsor exemption.

Similarly, Arnold Palmer Invitational, the 31-year-old will be eager to participate as last year had a decent finish with T30. Well, the confirmation for the golfer is still far till the event shares about the player roster. But, the golfer has done his preparation as the golf writer at The Athletic shared insight on his recovery.
Jordan Spieth’s injury recovery
His last run was at the St. Jude Championship before he went under the knife. Took him 6 months to bounce back, with some hard choices and tips from his golf crew. Giving an insight on this, Gabby Herzig joined the recent podcast of 5 Clubs.

Speaking on the recovery process of the golfer, she addressed a few positives. It was an extensive schedule from surgery to recovery. She even pointed out that he “could not feel the contact with golf balls.” Along the way, he creatively started practicing with Nerf balls. Even to make sure the process gets through smoothly, “He was asking other players like Sahith Theegala, and Billy Horschel, who had similar wrist surgeries,” Herzig added.
You can see the work he’s put in, but it’s gonna take a few events for him to swing performances like the ones that made him the second-youngest Masters winner. Thoughts on the golfer’s 2025 schedule? Can he bounce back? Let us know in the comments below.
