Tom Kim has not had the greatest start for the new season. He finished T6 at the Sony Open, which was followed by a missed cut at the American Express. He made his debut on TGL a few hours ago, as part of Tiger Woods’s team, and well, that was a turning point for him. The young star brought a surge of energy to match that was felt by both the fans in attendance and his fellow competitors on the course.
While previous matches had been marked by blowouts and lackluster play, Kim’s dynamic presence and a more closely contested battle created an atmosphere of excitement that energized the entire evening. Big names are key to drawing in viewers, on Monday it was Kim—through his combination of impressive shots and showmanship—that made TGL trend on social media Monday night. He was undeniably the standout player, delivering exactly what the league needs to inject energy into a format like this. Now the question is, where will he appear next?
The second Signature event on the PGA Tour is scheduled to take place from January 30 to February 2. Just like the other ones, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am too will have a limited-field with an increased prize money of $20 million purse, and FedExCup points (700 points to the winner). The list was released just a few hours ago, and as it turns out, Tom Kim will be a part of the prestigious event. Last year, he finished at T31 in the event with a 1-under. He will be looking forward to making a compensation for the poor performance this year.

Tom Kim snapped back at the TGL crowd on Monday during the match between Jupiter Links Golf Club and Boston Common Golf. As Kim attempted a hole-tying putt, the crowd began chanting
“Scottie” to distract the 22-year-old. However, Kim didn’t buckle under the pressure and nailed the putt. As soon as the ball dropped into the hole, he let the crowd hear it. The chants referred to Scottie Scheffler, with whom Kim had a playful back-and-forth in September during the Presidents Cup.On the eighth hole, Kim had taken the lead over
Scheffler with a putt similar to the one he made on Monday in the TGL. Kim responded with a roar, but Scheffler later made a birdie on the same hole to tie. As he celebrated, Scheffler appeared to shout, “What was that?” at Kim. “If you think about it now, it means a lot,” Kim told ESPN’s Matt Barrie of his early putt. “But for me, at the moment, you’re so focused on the putt and trying to make it that it doesn’t really pop into my mind. I’m grateful that my brain didn’t really get in my way.”There is one thing that has certainly been established after his TGL debut. Tom Kim is going to turn out to be the next big thing on the PGA Tour. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments section below!
