The BMW PGA Championship, a flagship event on the European Tour, has already kicked off at the Wentworth Golf Club in England. Even though the PGA Tour season is over, we will have plenty of action to look forward to at this leading tournament for the professional men golfers.
Initially, it had the highest prize money for any event which the tour organized, but this changed in 2009 with the introduction of the $10 million Dubai World Championship at the end of the season. The World Golf championship and the majors are some of the top lucrative events on the tour, but other governing bodies organize these. Moreover, for the purposes of official rankings, this is an important tour, as it offers 64 ranking points to the winner.

History of the BMW PGA Championship venue: Everything you need to know
The Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey, England, is a par-72 course, founded in 1922. It is the location of the PGA European Tour headquarters and was also the venue for the 1953 Ryder Cup! The West Course, which is the venue for the BMW PGA Championship, is designed by the famous Henry Colt. Since 2005, it has undergone a lot of redesigning by golfer and designer Ernie Els.
It is an interesting course, with hazards that are blended into the natural environment. However, it is not overly difficult, unless taken over by the heavy winds. So, keeping into account the history of play, chances are that the winner will end up in the 15-20 under par range if all goes well.
