When the Ryder Cup teams were confirmed, the news of Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau playing together raised eyebrows. Notably, the two players have been involved in an infamous feud since 2019, something which only got worse over time. Regardless of the anticipation, though, the two of them did not team-up. Now, fans wonder, when would Steve Stricker have clubbed the two together during the Ryder Cup?

The US Team ended up recording a historic 19-9 win. Koepka scored 2-2-0 overall, while DeChambeau scored 2-0-1. Both of their wins helped the home team secure the victory. Next, DeChambeau and Koepka will be seen in The Match in November.

When would Steve Stricker want Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau to play together?

According to Stricker, he would have paired DeChambeau and Koepka together if they started performing badly during the final session or so. “We kind of had it in our back pocket for like Saturday afternoon if we needed it, if we were down and we wanted to provide some sort of lift or spice to the team,” Stricker said.

However, Stricker admitted that if they played together, it would be a story bigger than the Ryder Cup itself. He added that it was something he and the assistants agreed upon. “We felt like it may have been — if we did put them together, that that story would have been bigger than the story itself, you know, the team and trying to win the cup. So we kind of shelved it, I guess.”

Over the course of the event, we also saw the two hug, indicating their rivalry was no longer an issue.
