The festive break is over and golfing season is beginning with one of the signature events of the PGA Tour i.e. The Sentry. With major names on the list, it is a must-watch for the fans to see who will lead from the first day of the 2025 event schedule. With groupings released, the event is going to be an exciting one for the players as well.

The world no. 2, Xander Schauffele who is the top pick for the fans, is grouped with Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark. Each player in the group had a great season last year, having several wins. Clark had 1 title, although had some pretty close finishes with 7 top 10s, including two runner-up finishes. On the other hand, the 25-year-old Aberg recently turned pro, has been the center of attraction for the golf world with his great finishes. Though he could not clinch any title in 2024, he recorded great finishes with 8 top 10s.

For the American golfer, we all have seen his performance, winning two majors in a single year. With all golfers in dominant form, it will be a delight for the fans to witness them on the course. Schauffele’s group will tee off at 9:33 AM ET in Round 1 and 11:39 AM ET in Round 2. The event will begin at 7:45 AM ET for the first round and second round. However, the group’s timing will be shuffled for the second round.

Along with the $20 million prize pot and FedExCup points at stake, golfers will be aiming to get the record of the best figures at the Sentry. The record has been unbroken for the last two seasons. Earlier, Cameron Smith broke the record of Ernie Els, who shot 261 with 31 under par. Cam Smith broke the 19-year unbroken record of Ernie Els, in 2022. Smith changed it to his name by scoring a total of 258 scores with 34 under par.

In the last two seasons, the best-recorded score to par was -27 and -29 by Jon Rahm and Chris Kirk, respectively. Will this be the record-breaking season? Or will Cameron Smith’s record stay for another season? What are your thoughts about the 2025 Sentry? Share with us in the comments section below.
