Losing someone close is never easy, and for Tiger Woods, it’s meant taking a step back from the game he loves. Just a week after his mom Kultida passed away, Woods has withdrawn from the Genesis Invitational, admitting he’s still trying to process his loss. “I did my best to prepare, knowing it’s what my Mom would have wanted, but I’m still processing her loss,” he shared.

He had wanted to play in her honor, but it’s clear his emotions are still raw. Our hearts go out to Woods as he navigates this tough time. We’ll be waiting patiently to see when he’ll be back on the course, doing what he does best. Now, the wait begins to see where and when Woods will make his first start of 2025.

Tiger Woods’s schedule for the upcoming months is still up in the air, but there are a few preferable tournaments ahead. The Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches, previously known as the Honda Classic, is one possibility, although it would be a surprise addition to his schedule. Woods has played at PGA National in the past, with his last appearance coming in 2018. He’s also had success at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, winning the tournament eight times, and The Players Championship, where he’s taken home the title twice.

Of course, the big question is whether Woods will play any of these events before heading to Augusta for The Masters. While it’s possible he could make his first start of the year at the Masters, it’s more likely he’ll want to get some competitive rounds under his belt beforehand. The Masters is a special tournament for Woods, who has won five Green Jackets, and he’ll surely want to be prepared to take on the best of the best.

Not that long ago, Tiger Woods kicked off his TGL 2025 run with a rough start, as his Jupiter Links squad got walloped 12-1 by LAGC. Just two weeks later, he bounced back in style, helping his team snag an overtime win against Rory McIlroy’s Boston Common Golf.

Right? So much was on the line already, a new league, fresh technology, and rollercoaster performances by golf stars. Now, struck by personal pain, it totally makes sense to stay away from professional pressures for a while. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t playing the sport at all.

Tiger Woods finds solace in golf with Donald Trump

Tiger Woods is finding comfort in golf during a difficult time. Following the passing of his mother, Kultida, he was spotted playing a round of golf with Donald Trump at Trump International Golf Club in Florida. This rare public appearance came just a day after Woods’ familial announcement. The two have a long-standing friendship, with Trump having presented Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019.

Trump acknowledged Woods’ emotional state after their game, saying “He was great. He’s a great guy. He’s very sad over his mother’s passing. He’s a great guy”. The game raised some eyebrows, with speculation about whether it was just a friendly round or if something more was at play. Whatever the reason, it’s clear that Trump and Woods have a strong bond. After their game, it was reported that Trump headed to the Super Bowl. Now every fan in the golf world is waiting for Woods to drop a hint of his potential debut, where do you think he’ll play next?
