As the first match for the Jupiter Links on January 14 against Los Angeles Golf Club, that would be the season starter.

As the tournaments have unique points systems, each team will compete against rivals in the schedule and the top 4 most points earners will qualify for the semi-finals. The schedule of the event will feature new rivals each weekend. For Woods’ team, after their first match, the next appearance will be on January 27 against Boston Common Golf, featuring Rory McIlroy.

Following this, there are three more matches scheduled till March 4 for the team. The third match will be on February 18, competing against the New York Golf Club. Further, the fourth and fifth match will tee off on February 25 against The Bay Golf Club and on March 4, against Atlanta Drive Golf Club. After the 5 league matches, the team that earns the most points for the top 4 positions will qualify for the semis. Following this, the top two will compete in the finals.

While all the fans hoping for an easy win for Tiger Woods‘ team in the semis, it isn’t going to be a cakewalk. The unique points systems and the match format will require each player to showcase the best skill set in the virtual-real combo at the SoFi to get 2 points after the match.

The unique format of TGL

At TGL, teams will have to earn the most points in the match with each hole offering 1 point. But what’s interesting about that is the format as it features 3V3 and singles format all together for the 15 holes. Here is what the match would look like, for the first 9 holes. The team will decide an order for each player’s shot, and following that, the team will compete for the first 9 holes.

After that, for the final 6 holes, singles will begin and each player will have two holes to play. Player 1 of the team will play holes 10 & 13, Player 2, holes 11 & 14, and Player 3, holes 12 & 15. Once the match is finished, the winning team having the most points for the holes will get 2 points for the match which will help in getting ahead on the leaderboard.

The comeback of the legendary golfer, new format, and unique course having tech and reality together is going to be great fun for the fans.
