In a slightly unexpected move, Paige Spiranac retired from professional golf in 2016. Her popularity, however, never dipped. Focusing on her social media career, Spiranac’s popularity continued to grow.
However, the 28-year-old is not directly related to the PGA Tour anymore. Even though her videos and posts are centered around golf, Spiranac is no longer a part of events. Her income is mainly focused on her online persona, along with the various deals she has signed. Unfortunately, her incredible reach does not make her a part of other bonuses and events included by the tour.
Can I get in on this? Would be nice to get some money anytime someone googles “are Paige Spiranac’s boobs real” https://t.co/0Vm31hcTb9

Did Paige Spiranac want to be a part of the PIP fund?
Back in 2021, the PGA Tour came up with the Player Impact Program. This way, players would reap the benefits even if they did not win. The Google search rankings, Meltwater Mentions, and MVP Index rating were among the criteria considered, which did, in turn, prove a platers’ influence.

Spiranac, with over 3 million followers on Instagram, spoke about possibly being included in the PIP fund. Clearly meant as a joke, Spiranac was also showing fans that she remains popular and iconic. While the PIP fund is a result of various factors, Spiranac is easily one of the more popular golfers today.
Of course, due to her being retired, Spiranac will not be related to the prize as well. The YouTuber seemed aware of that, only using her tweet as a joke. She did, in the end, talk about her popularity. “I know I joke around a lot but I have the highest engagement rate in golf and the most followers on Instagram,” Spiranac wrote.
Furthermore, it was frustrating for her that those on the PGA Tour and otherwise are making millions, but brands refuse to pay content creator like her. On another end, some fans took her seriously, wondering how she is a top player. “Clearly a joke. I’m sorry you don’t have a sense of humor,” Spiranac wrote.

Who won the inaugural PIP fund?
On the other hand, beating out Phil Mickelson and a dozen of other players, Tiger Woods won the first PIP prize worth $8 million. Mickelson, Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka, Jon Rahm, and Bubba Watson followed Woods. However, owing to Woods’ fame, the result was no surprise.
Additionally, the total size of the fund will be $50 million in 2022.
