Justin Timberlake’s 2002 golf swing remains iconic
Back in 2002, Justin Timberlake (still with NSYNC) played at the American Express event. Sponsored by someone else, the event was named the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic back in 2002. The video shared features a young Timberlake, who has apparently played golf for less than a month.
However, the songwriter made it to the course, showing off his six-month-old swing in front of fans. In face, Timberlake was even asked about feeling the pressure while golfing as opposed to when he is performing. “It’s ridiculous,” Timberlake told the interviewer. “You put me on a stage in front of millions of people and I’ll be just fine. Put me on a golf course in front of two people and I’m like, ‘Why are they watching me?'”
Fans react
Fans seemed to love the throwback. Some spoke of swing, while some discussed Timberlake’s voice. “This man’s voice is almost too buttery smooth….makes me uncomfortable lol,” one user wrote. Another joked about the caption and spoke about how everyone should just bring back the frosted tips now.
