The final golf event has concluded with a big heartbreak for Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods. It was even distressing for the fans, as Team Woods came close to winning their first title at the PNC Championship but unfortunately could not secure the win. However, moving on from the setback, the calendar will also reset with a new season. With a few days away from the course due to the festive break, players will be resting well for the new season of the PGA Tour to start strong from the beginning.

With the latest update on the schedule for the 2025 season, it is offering a similar calendar event, including eight signature events with 18 full-field events. The schedule will be played across 18 states in the United States, along with countries like Mexico, Northern Ireland, Canada, Scotland, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico.

Players will be starting the new season in the first week of January with the Sentry in Hawaii. Beginning on Thursday, January 2, 2025, the event will take place at the Plantation Course at the Kapalua Resort. Starting off with a good finish will help golfers secure them ahead in the leaderboard as the tournament has 700 FedExCup Points and a huge prize pot of $20,000,000 at stake.

Last year’s Sentry was a great edition of the Signature events with the winner Chris Kirk finishing at 29 under, totaling 263. Following him, Sahith Theegala was the runner-up with an under-28 score. The nail-biting season last year has high hopes for the fans, and it will be an interesting event to witness at the beginning of a new calendar year. However, apart from the schedule shared by the PGA Tour, Rory McIlroy has shared his schedule too. Following the schedule, Rory McIlroy has also revealed his participation at the 2025 event. Unlike the 2024 season, he will ‘shave off’ some events.

Rory McIlroy’s 2025 schedule

The PGA Tour event schedule has been very tiring with new events every week. Following that, Rory McIlroy shared with the Golfing Gazette his preference for the coming season and explained cutting off some events. Ahead of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai, he shared, “I think it will look very similar going forward. Start in the Middle East in Dubai, and then I don’t really play over here again until The Scottish Open.” While continuing on the schedule, he shared that some events would be removed from the schedule. For that, he shared, “If anything, the schedule will be reduced over in the States in terms of some of the tournaments I played this year that I typically don’t play. But those are the ones that I would shave off.”

McIlroy will most likely be shaving off the Valero Texas Open and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. He featured for the first time at the Zurich in 2024, which he even won. While, along with the two, the RBC Canadian Open can be another tournament that will be axed off.
