Lydia Ko has had an incredible 2024. After failing to capture any trophy in 2023, the New Zealander made a comeback to the winning ways by racking up 3 LPGA Tour victories this season. This also included the prestigious Women’s Open 2024.
She also had 8 top 10 finishes throughout the year. This included the LPGA Drive On Championship which she ‘nearly’ won after finishing 2nd to Nelly Korda. Her last appearance was at the CME Group Tour Championship where she ended at 3rd on the leaderboard. But she is “not done yet”.

After getting close to a victory at the CME Group Tour Championship 2024, Lydia Ko gave an interview about the amazing 2024 season she had.
Speaking to ASAP Sports, Lydia Ko recollected some of the best memories she had throughout the year. When Ko was asked what was the best moment she had this year, she said, “Probably the Olympics. You know, the Olympics comes around every four years, and knowing that Paris was going to be my last, there was no other opportunity for me internally.” She continued to discuss how this was her last opportunity to win a gold medal for New Zealand. Ko added, “For me to make all my dreams come true by winning the gold there it’s been unbelievable.”
After discussing a few more fond memories she had over the years, Ko said, “I’m excited for what’s ahead. I’m not done yet. I’m playing the Grant Thornton Invitational with Jason Day in a couple of weeks,” thus confirming her next appearance on the course.

While last year’s champions Lydia Ko and Jason Day dominated the competition in 2023, they might not have an easy outing this time around. Ko’s arch-rival Nelly Korda will be teaming up with Tony Finau once again to fight for the title. LPGA star Lexi Thompson will also be fighting for the trophy alongside Rickie Fowler. They will also face tough competition from the team of the 2024 CME Group Tour Champion Atthaya ‘Jeeno’ Thitikul and Tom Kim.
