Bryson DeChambeau is one of the finest golfers who won his maiden title in his 40th start on tour. He won the Open Championship in 2017 along with many more trophies under his name. The bizarre experience of Bryson DeChambeau
A year ago, during the PGA Tour, Bryson DeChambeau had an unexpected experience. During the game, he ripped a drive off the 18th tee. But he sent the ball way left, down the 10th hole, which was into the rough next to the 11th tee box.

@PGATOUR shared the exact happenings of the incident. The worst part was Bryson could not find his ball in the allotted time. People there were looking for the ball and they could not find it because the ball mysteriously disappeared from the golf course.

Even after looking for it for a long time, the ball was nowhere to be found. This would have costed him big time.
What actually transpired
After the allotted time of three minutes to find the ball, no one could find it, and things weren’t looking good for DeChambeau. But thankfully, technology came to the rescue as cameras proved to be a big help.

As a result, a PGA Tour rules official figured out where the ball went. He reviewed the camera footage and found something unexpected. It was clear from the footage that a fan picked up his ball and walked away with it. Not sure if it was a mistake by him, or he thought himself lucky to have found the ball.

Because of this incident, DeChambeau could take a free drop and then he went to find the green in two. As a result, he became the fifth player to achieve that feat in a tournament. He signed for round 72 and made a birdie. This was not the only time when DeChambeau lost a ball. It also happened during the Augusta National in 2020 when the ball was lost after Bryson’s hit.
