One of the most anticipated sporting events in the world of golf, the Ryder Cup is currently underway at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club. The first day saw the Europeans destroy the American squad with scores of 6.5-1.5.
With the second session of morning Foursomes, the focus will be on the Luke Donald-led team to see whether they can cement their dominance in the tournament. But then the question arises – what will happen if the American team fails to stop the 30-year-old curse, letting their rivals claim the winning points on Saturday? Makes every golf fan curious, doesn’t it?

A lot of eyes will be on the European squad as they take to the course in a bid to win back the trophy from America. Almost at the halfway point, the hopes of ending the Ryder Cup with a victory are not bleak for Donald and his team.
The first team to reach the specified score wins the biennial tournament. If the European team attains 14.5 points, then the Cup would go to them, but if America makes a comeback to score 14, the Zach Johnson-led team would be able to retain their title as defending champions and go on to Sunday.
Nevertheless, the European team, consisting of a young set of golfers combined with veterans, has proved to be an unstoppable force on the field. The second day, at the time of writing, saw the Europeans leading the scoreboard on three of the four matches in the first session with a win by the Viktor Hovland– Ludvig Aberg duo.
One can’t help but be curious as to how the Europeans dominated their rivals on day 2, all the while hoping to replicate their feat.
Europe in the lead to take the Ryder Cup
The Saturday Foursomes saw the American golfers take a hit again as they lost the second match against Europe played by none other than Brooks Koepka and Scottie Scheffler. The pair found themselves being destroyed by Aberg and Hovland as they registered a comprehensive 9&7 win against the American duo by scoring 7 birdies on the opening 11 holes.

The rest of the Europe team has been faring well except for Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka, who are 3-down through the 12th against Max Homa and Brian Harman. Nevertheless, they have a bright day ahead with Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood along with Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, who are 2-up through the 13th and the 9th respectively.
