What NBA Legend Michael Jordan Said About the Greatness and Impact of Tiger Woods

Can you imagine basketball without Michael Jordan? No, right? But according to him, that would’ve been the case if Tiger Woods had debuted when he was a kid. Although the idea itself might not be so resounding with us, he seemed pretty serious about it.

The NBA GOAT turned 59 on the 17th of February 2022. And the video Golf Digest posted on Twitter to celebrate the same took us back to when Michael expressed nothing but admiration for Tiger.

Michael Jordan’s shocking revelation

“In all honesty, if I was a kid growing up today and I watch Tiger Woods play golf, I don’t know how much… how good a basketball player I would be. Because I would probably end up playing more golf than playing basketball.” Jordan said, in awe of Tiger.

He explained that he feels so because of the similarities between them. “He had a certain confidence about him, you know, and those are all traits I feel like I have,” he said. MJ added that this similarity helped to grow a bond between the two sports entities. According to him, the bond converted into a big brother little brother relationship.

MJ’s admiration and love for Tiger were furthermore evident when he said what they both think of each other. He added that not just in sports, but both of them want to see each other do well in other endeavors as well.

It is not just Jordan who felt the bond, but Tiger experienced it, too. The golfer revealed the same when he appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Tiger said that his and Jordan’s relationship strengthened because of their association with the Nike brand. Tiger explained that the NBA legend helped him deal with the fame. Notably, Jordan helped Tiger with how to deal with the media, articles, privacy, and the other common happenings of their world, like a brother, since he had the experience of it.

As the most talented entities of their respective sports, Tiger and Michael have tasted similar success. And this helped create a special bond between the two of them. Surely, it will be delightful for fans to see their favorite stars share such a good relationship and speak so highly of each other.
