Phil Mickelson is one of the funniest golfers on the PGA Tour. He goes around cracking jokes and keeps the mood light wherever he goes. He once revealed a funny story from the Masters’ Champions dinner during a press conference of the 2021 Masters. While talking about the champions dinner menu, he revealed a comical story from the champions dinner of Adam Scott.

Phil revealed Adam had a wonderful meal, an Australian cuisine for dinner. Then later, came the dessert pavlova, and this is where the story begins.

Not many people knew about the origin of this Australian dessert. “It is a meringue with some fruits and so forth,” revealed Phil.

Phil Mickelson saw that thing and remembered the story. “I said, oh uh pavlova, that’s inspired by the great Russian ballerina anna pavlova who was touring through New Zealand Australia. And the Australian chef was so inspired by her beautiful movement he made a dessert after her,” said Mickelson.

After hearing this, the chairman looked at Phil as if saying, “what kind of stuff are you spewing?” Furthermore, everyone started calling out Phil, saying this wasn’t true. They couldn’t even google as cell phones aren’t allowed at the champions dinner. “Everybody’s calling me out of my BS, and a lot of times I am BSing,” revealed Phil. However, this time Mickelson was right.

Phil’s daughter was a dancer, and she wrote a biography on Anna Pavlova. Furthermore, he said he made 32 Pavlovas for her class when she was a little girl, and he knew this story, and he was right about it this time. However, other dinner guests seemed to be having a difficult time believing Phil as his track record didn’t support it. For Phil Mickelson, these small moments are the ones that make the Masters’ Dinner more special and memorable.

Currently, the 51-year-old left-handed golfer is going through a strenuous period. He is taking a break from golf as he received a massive backlash from fans as his comments about the PGA Tour and Saudi League went viral. Furthermore, Mickelson is currently inactive on social media and has lost most of his sponsors.

However, according to reports, Phil is all set to make a comeback and compete at the 2022 U.S. Open, which will begin on June 16th at The Country Club in Brookline.
